Our membership numbers are very low. I think the usual pattern is that a lot of people tend to sign up just before or just after the season starts. I would hope that anyone who planned to join will still do so in order to support the club, even if there is no footy. Same goes for all other clubs. I can't believe some AFL members are demanding a refund because they can't go to games.

That's because they are followers and not supporters. Followers of fads, trends and whatever the bloke next door is doing.

The few Eagles members (all long term) I know are far more passionate about their club than they ever were about their WAFL teams - and at considerable more cost.

It appears that memberships have increased by 60 just today. Well done to those who are supporting our club. Only up to 32% of target though so a long way to go.

Are you suggesting that Aussie Rules is a class based sport, because quite frankly I think that is a ridiculous idea, at all levels of the game.

Another couple I know, who are passionate about the Eagles, have been cheer squad members for many years, and they are light years away from being middle class.

It has always cost a quid to watch footy at the highest level in WA.

it was a working class sport and a catholic sport. Subi and Perth are actually known as Catholic clubs.
