Not sure if this is old news....

So West Coast want Jarrod Cameron,Charlie’s brother, at East Perth and not at Swans.

Why even bother trying to get kids to a draftable stage?! Just get them to mature and become gun footballers after they finish colts so the club can get a transfer fee at least. I wonder if Greg Harding or any other colts coach will be judged on the number of players drafted or the number of flags won? As shown last year,a gun side doesn’t mean guaranteed draftees.

Farrrk the WAFC I say,I hope no kids get drafted whilst colts age.

Under the WAFL club control colts programs it was hard enough to get a colt to play League footy with State 18s and national draft commitments. This is likely to be even more difficult with the WAFC running the colts program. The reality is a very small percentage of colts play senior footy before they are drafted or graduate to senior footy. Coniglio etc played as a Colts nearly a decade ago, under a different model. You won’t see any 15 year Tim Watson’s running around in the VFL/AFL these days either.

Also thought I read somewhere that Carter had been nominated as an Acadamy pre-selection for this years draft?

We’re not really missing out on much with the kid only likely to have played a handful of colts games for us this year. Just gives another kid a chance now.

In regards to your comment PN, it’s mainly a bunch of irrate WAFL supporters kicking up a fuss because they believe anything & everything that’s different to what the WAFL was pre-1987 is a major problem. I haven’t seen anyone in an official capacity at CFC make a statement on this or demand compensation...

Claremont President Grant Povey is not in an official capacity? As reported in the West by well known Claremont supporter and spruiker John Townsend
I have listed previously in this thread the plethora of SD players Colts Aged that have played League footy over the years for us S.Taylor, Logue, Blakely, Cameron in the last few years alone and yet apparently no club is affected by this decision?! :S

Breathtaking PN. Did anyone ask Clancee Pearce, Connor Blakely, Ethan Hughes et al whether they would like to play at Swans or Peel in the WAFL?

Considering they won a WAFL flag at Peel and looked happy in the post match pics, not sure what you mean 42....anyway Pearce could of played at SD this year but headed south instead......isn't Hughes a Peel product anyway?

People on here are making a lot of assumptions especially the apologists. But I will keep it simple: Claremont have lost a player, whether he would have played, colts, reserves or league against commission rules. Shit-a-brick, next we will have some teenager from Carine claimming he can't play for Subiaco because he is from a ' broken home' and needs the medical nouce available at an AFL club to play football

BH: Yep, I think the actions of Povey have made things quite official.

TT It is far from being about supporerts being annoyed regarding the changes in football since 1987. On the contrary, in fact, it is about the rules as they apply today, in 2018.

Freezin I am completely to understand your motivation, other than the obvious one that you are just trying to stir, is for making those comments. Swans have expended a great deal on time, money and effort in trying improve school attendances in the Pilbara through their vSwans programme. And no Swans are not alone in trying to do this. I don't need to tell you the indigenous players that have played for clubs like Swans, Claremont and Souths and in fact most WAFL clubs over the journey. Then along comes the AFL in their arrogance BECAUSE THE VFL/AFL had a problem in that area they without doing any research and with no consultation takeover areas like the Kimberley and Pilbara regions. And as a consequence we have decisions like the one made y the WAFC that again attack the integrity of the WAFL.

If the AFL's motivations are honourable why wouldn't they provide financial support for organisations and clubs seeking to improve educational outcomes through sport? The answer of course is the AFL is nothing but a parasite and like all parasites end up killing their hosts.

Didn’t read Saturdays West, had an early start on a slow trip to Rotto. I couldn’t find anything on the West online so if anyone could provide a link to the article with Povey’s comments, I’d be grateful.
