They are now saying wont be ready until June at the earliest Reeko & TOO and Claremont are exploring the use of Fremantle Oval for 4 of their home games in the first half of the season.
One has to ask does anything ever get built and the keys handed over on time in WA?

And also very noticeable that no reason or explanation has been given for the late time frame!

Still looks to be a substantial amount of work to be completed in the next 2 months. The club will also need enough time to fit out the facility with their own equipment after handover and also get council approvals to serve food and RGL to sign off on their liquor licence prior to the first game.

As pointed out the oval looks in pretty average condition with most of the western wing needing to be returfed.

Surely the whole surface would be ripped up and new turf laid? I would find that staggering if that isn't done.

Jeez with all this loss of home games and now the retirement of our full back Franz leaving us with virtually no key defenders this promising season is quickly turning sour

Wonder if they would consider selling a few home games like they did with Swans last year.

The articles referring to clubs refusing to swap is a little insulting. Later it tells the reasons why. Subi can hardly swap a game in Esperance, and our home ground is used by the TFKAEP every other weekend

lathlain will not be ready until the SF game on May 1
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

That makes two clubs without grounds at the start of the season - Claremont will probably be playing at Fremantle Oval for home games by the looks of it.
Might be June sometime

Oh deary me!
With grounds not being ready, some teams looking at ground swapping on match days, some fixtures maybe being held at suburban grounds, it's sounding confusing already!
Can see Wafl attendances being poor in the first half of the season? Which is not the ideal situation.

Unfortunately it's amature hour, the Claremont footy club up until last week kept advising it's members that April 15 was still locked in! penalty clause should have been locked in with the construction people
