Where does it say about Payne? Went onto the Claremont list on the WAFL website and he was still listed as an East Perth Player.

WAFL player lists at this early stage would only show retirements, doubt very much any new recruits from other clubs, be they WAFL or interstate, would be listed Mr AFL, they'd still have paper work, agreeing on clearance fee, medical clearance then lodging with the WAFC.

Serious question but do Claremont really need to recruit anyone?
In the 34 years I have been following the WAFL I have never seen a weak Claremont League or Colts side.
It has almost been like a production line of talent at Tigerland thanks to having a very good zone and watching carefully from afar they are coached/managed/developed very well from their development sides, through to their Colts & then on to the Seniors.
The likes of Sam Bevan and Alex Manuel from your Colts team will develop into fine WAFL key forwards if not picked up in this years draft much the same as Abbott & McGovern did this year in League footy.

BH.....apparently it is a socio-economic phenomena for Cl success ;)

perhaps a reason for Cl longevity of sustainable success has been their ability/luck(?) to recruit quality on top of developing quality youngsters........why would they want to stop implementing that blue print for success?.......

BH in terms of the players that "may" move to Claremont from other clubs mentioned on this thread I totally agree with you. Would have thought the midfield would be the area they'd look at given Blackwell, Foster, Orzel, Hnadley & Waterman have departed. The 3 players mentioned from other clubs, 2 talls and a small defender, would have thought we had plenty of.
Players returning to Claremont, like Maister, on the other hand will compliment the development of the kids you mentioned, and compensate the expected loss of McGovern and possibly Abbott.
Plus, given our small supporter base and falling attendances/interest at/in the WAFL these days continued success is a must, would have thought all WAFL clubs would understand that.

Tiger of Old see you reckon we need more talls?? Franz, McAllister, Starcevich & Maister-there's our key position players, Seaby & Andrews-there's our rucks, we'll probably lose young Cameron, Mcgovern & Abbott, but then again we may not. Plus a couple of youngsters from the Colts & Magoos may step up for the League. Has any of the above left? Would have seriously thought Blackwell, Foster, Handley & Orzel retiring would hurt us more, Murphy & Neates will get more attention so would think midfielders of quality is what they'd be chasing for 2015.

I forgot about starcevich, he barely played this year. if him and maister can be up and about there's plenty of tall timber in the forward line, and with seaby floating down there. it's more key defenders I would like to see. McAllister at 188cm would be better as a third key defender, along with Hamp who lacks physical strength. if Franz was to get injured we would be in a bit of strife down there, but then again there isn't a lot big forwards going around in the wafl at the moment.
don't think Darcy Cameron would be on the draft radar, he was over looked last year and didn't do much this year playing reserves mostly. and I know about Abbots past faults but would be surprised if somebody doesn't take a punt on him, he's got brute strength, explosive speed, huge leap, thumping kick... will be a huge bonus for us if he's still with us next year.

Bit harsh on McAllister, combination of Franz & McAllister were rarely beaten all year, think the young forward from Swans gave Franz a working over early in the season but 2nd half of the year they were solid as.
Heard there was a bit of interest in Cameron this time around.
Interesting to see if Beau Maister brings anyone with him from Victoria.
Transgressing, went past the oval yesterday, roof gone, looks like they're salvaging as much as possible. Graffiti everywhere!

I thought McAllister did an outstanding job too last year but with his skills and mobility would be good if he could be released from centre half back into a more attacking role off a flank or pocket. would be ideal to have Franz and James Thomson back in the key defensive posts to take the bigablokes. if Lewis Stevenson returns, with him and Matt Davies there's two of the best kicks going around coming out of defence.
