Listened on the radio in between watching The red legs wear down Subi for a gutsy win. Very hard to get a good feel on the game, but we came away with the chocolates quite convincingly in the end. Can anyone that went to the game give us a summary please.

Tight contest to half time. We were dominating but turnovers cost us. We used a bit too much handball. Our ruck duo smashed them and gave us first use of the ball after half time. Score line should of been much worse with inaccuracy. Young Jimmy Depane from easts had a good league debut racking up 22 disposals and kicking 2 pretty nice goals.
Andrew Foster starred again. Jack bradshaw played reserves today.

Does anyone know how long til we see Mcgovern, Handley and Blackwell?

HT, I think EF kicking 1.5 was a tad more inaccurate than Cl 4.5 in the 3rd....also 2.5 in the first stanza was a tad more inaccurate than CL 4.3 too?....3.10 in 2 quarters is what killed EF.....Cl kicked 8.8 at the same time.....always gonna hurt when that happens.

Congrats to CL on the win, always gonna be a big ask for Symonds and Macdougall to compete against Seaby and Andrews in the ruck. Wish EF had a few more Mitch Browns up back.....3 to be precise....one for Jones, one for Andrews and one for Hamp....EF just don't have anything tall up front to kick goals.....always gonna be aproblem against the stronger sides. Good to see Depane get a few kicks too....

Sounds like the colts game was a beauty though.....feel quite happy EF got within 5 points of Cl without 3 of their state boys in Regan, Bourne and J. Cripps....not too sure who Cl were missing tho if any?.... but good to see at least 3 - 4 new names in the EF colts side this weekend.....

Good on ya DF at the moment the Dee's & the Falcons are the only sides to have pushed us for 4 quarters and the Dee's quite easily could have been the only side to have beaten us, but that is how it is. I think now all coaches have had a good look at all the other teams and the next round should prove very interesting, looking forward to it.
DF your Demons look very good over the whole 1st round, really looking forward to our clash with you guys at Browne's stadium that will show us how we are going well and truly.

Ol boy, for some reason you have given us some fair hidings at Brownes in recent years.

I think our only wins against you lately have been upsets at Claremont oval.

But yes, some fair challenges coming up for the DEES, starting with the Cardies this week.

Also looking forward to our next meeting, always good testing yourself against the best and that seems to be what this group of young DEES wants to do.

Their last 2 games have been full of character, playing both games with a bench of two in the second half.

Look forward to hosting you at Brownes.

Lets all not forget Claremont have players the calibre of Blackwell, Handley, McGovern & Bradshaw out injured atm and they are still winning! They will lose a game or 2 during the H&A season but NO club will stop them winning the flag again but they may lose it themselves through over confidence!

BH let's not forget that on any given day it's a 2 horse race.

I remember well two GF's gone begging to the longest priced underdogs in history.

You weren't at Claremont6 oval last round where the DEES hit the front with a minute remaining.

Played the entire second half with a 2 man bench.

Nothing is impossible in this world.

They will get beat at some time, but if they do go undefeated they will deserve it and be only the second side to do it in over 100 years.
