Back into the swing of things with Round 1 coming up this weekend.

Thornlie v Jandakot @ Thornlie:
Always hard to pick round 1 not knowing what’s been happening in the offseason and teams finding their feet.
Jandakot another year older hoping to have some more success this year, while Thornlie looking to build on a solid year last year. 
Thornlie at home to start their season off with a W.

Kalamunda v Kwinana @ Kalamunda
Kwinana have recruited in this off season and Kalamunda have had some big name departures. I still see the Cougars being too strong up in the hills.

Gosnells v Mosman Park @ Gosnells:
A game right at the start of the season that might help us gauge where both these clubs are in the c1 comp this year. 
I’m picking Mosman Park to get the away win.

Bassendean v Melville @ Bassendean
The decline for Basso has been steady for Bassendean over the last couple of years while Melville seem to have picked a couple of handy recruits. I’m thinking Melville in a game that has the potential to not be close.

Hamersley Carine v Ballajura @ HC
Interesting to see where Ballajura will sit this year coming back from a year in B grade. HC had some good games last year but also had some where they fell away.
Purely based on them having B grade experience last year I’m going to go with Ballajura.

I’m expecting picks for all grades to be all over the place until about round 4 when we start to see what’s what.

Good to see a fellow C1 commentor kicking off things for the year, Great write up Eyesaw, look forward to the continued conversations this year.

Thornlie vs Jandakot. Whilst I view both teams as finals contenders, Thornlie at home is always a tough place to get a Dub. Thornlie to win by 5 goals.
Kalamunda Vs Kwinana: Kilometres in the C1 competition will be a big factor this year and the trek to Kalamunda as always is one of the toughest to tussle. Whilst Kwinana have managed to lure a few more Knights in and the cougs have lost a few key players Kalamunda will be to strong at home, 6 goal margin.
Gosnells vs Mosman Park. I will tip this game in favour of Gosnells. 1285 for and 976 against in 2024 will hold them in good stead this year and they should kick start the year with a 2 goal win.
Bassendean vs Melville. Melville likely to kickstart the year off but only by 3 goals.
Hammersley Carine vs Balla. I think the returning Ballajura will kick the year off with a 7 goal win.
