We have had a wet weather finals series and now it looks like to open up just nicely in time for Saturday. Unfortunately the old Claremont oval not the best drainage and from what I saw last Sunday the Tigers and sharks ripped it up some more. C2 has been a funny odd one with plenty of ladder leaders but Kwinana holding the top for most of the season. Gossy were consistent and definitely went through their dark patches but showed up and got the job done when it mattered. Well done to both clubs on the move up to c1. Might be a first time for Kwinana but Gossy are know strangers to c1 action.

Colts.. . . Piara Waters v Quinn’s, probably the strongest two in the colts competition and both deserve to there on Saturday. Piara’s first colts team looking to make history and win the big one undefeated. Quinn’s just missing out last year have made a big improvement and shows that Quinn’s football club as a big future with these kids.Piara to win

Ressies.. . . Willetton v Ellenbrook., well wow, if you had asked me at the start of the season who’d be in the grandy for ressies I definitely wouldn’t have said these two. Willo just missed out last year while the eels came from c3. I guess towards the end of the season it was a matter of who could qualify the most players as both league sides were missing out.Willo to win

Gosnells v Kwinana. . .. the big stage is set. Well done to TH for winning the best n fairest, I’d imagine Kwinana will put some work and pressure into him to stop his run and carry. I feel like Kwinana have already done the work and use the same game plan in the semi final. I just want Gossy to stay disciplined. Nothing silly, they need to just keep chipping away and be smart. I feel like both teams are evenly matched. Yarran down forward will need to pull his finger out and not throw his hands in the air every time something doesn’t go his way. Steele will be important for Kwinana as will there small forwards also on the slippery Claremont surface.Gossy by 7 points.

 Good luck everyone.

Made it down just after halftime of the colts game, and was surprised to see Quinn’s in front. I guess for the Quinn’s side they were the under dogs with nothing to loose. As expected Claremont oval was in fine condition!!! The sun was out and it looked like we were in for a good day of football. The second half of colts I thought had some good skills a passages of play by both sides. When Piara kicked a goal Quinn’s seemed to put two more away. Quinn’s applying plenty of pressure around every contest and kicked the last couple to seal the game. Unfortunately not the fairytale ending that Piara wanted.

I missed the ressies game as I ducked out to see an old mate in Nedlands, but upon arrival back with a couple of minutes to go the Ellenbrook supporters were absolutely going for it as the Ellenbrook boys almost snatched a come from behind victory. Willo just holding on to win by 2 points.

As the league boys ran out during the ressies celebration and awards I felt like Kwinana were too relaxed. I noticed for Gossy no woodsy and thought that the game may swing the other the way as he was one of the X factors. Gossy came out of the blocks hard and fast indeed kicking the first four goals to Kwinanas one in the first quarter. The second quarter was just contest after contest as teams stumbled and struggled to take it clean on the slippery Claremont deck. The third quarter was more controlled by TH and Rwoods for Gossy providing a lot of run and carry. A silly fumbles and putting themselves under pressure cost Gossy a goal. The last quarter was gloves off and go all in as the Kwinana coach tried to lift his side with an inspiring 3qtr time speech. Unfortunately the gossy boys were hitting the ball harder and faster while constantly taking the game on coming out 23 point winners. To the gossy supporters in the stands just be humble with your win, no need for the words and acting like clowns when children are around.

Thanks to everyone for the season including viper and whitey who always came on to put in the tips and write ups Enjoy the off season, summer and cricket!See you next year
