With the year fairly into the swing of things now life is becoming a little easier to predict a few outcomes that will occur throughout this 2023 C1 season.
My final ladder positions.
1.Ballajura. They have beaten good teams and smashed the poorer teams- very good chance to go through the season with 2 or less losses.
2. Brentwood Booragoon. Easy draw and the bye to start the season before 2 big wins over solid teams in Swan Athletic and Canning Vale. Dominant ressies team provides great depth for the winter months about to set it.
3. Melville. Games against Ballajura and Brentwood in the next few weeks should give us a good indicator if the team from Stock road will be a top 3 team or possibly fading out of the top 5.
4. Swan Ath. Better then all of the bottom 4 teams and they will break even against the top 5. If they get a home ground advantage in finals would be a big chance to win a GF. Quality midfield, quality forwards and good size across the spine also.
5. Jandakot. After three wins on the trot and a loss to a lower Carlisle a few big wins over any of the top 4 sides in the latter half of the year is needed to ensure they play finals, good depth with a solid 2s team will be helpful.
6. Canning Vale. Good enough with their best football to make it to the 4th or 5th spot but they lack the high-end talent of the top 4 sides where they struggle for consistency.
7. Carlisle. A team stuck in the middle of the pack, sneakily get through a few wins against better sides but always seem to drop games against the bottom feeders.
8. Thornlie. Just like the area they reside in they are a rough team that relies heavily on stoppage footy. This style works well against the likes of Carlisle who play a similar style but every other team above them has too much talent for Thornlie to defend. Their CHF Andrew Tomich is a shining light in a very dull team.
9.High Wycombe. They a purely a C2 team a best, the C1 comp is too well drilled and deep for the bulldogs to keep up with for the 4 quarters.
