I was lucky enough to get down and catch the Piara v SNESA game. I did see the last half of the ressies, I thought it was evenly matched although Coolbinia probably had a bit more polish with there handful of league players. Piara had plenty of the ball but blew there options going forward and always wanting to go sideways, Coolbinia a lot more direct with #3 controlling the stoppages and #10 had the ball on a sting going forward.
In the league the first qtr was a hard contested footy. Piara lost there captain in the first ten seconds to a clean fair hip and shoulder which looked liked it popped out. Piara kicked the first goal but SNESA kept driving and pushing. The second qtr was a lot different as both teams seemed to try and take the game under control and slow it down, again Snesa kept chipping away and made the most of there opportunities.
After halftime it was all one way, Snesa had all the momentum with Masto and Wellingham putting on a bit of a show. ( it looks like Wellingham is on his last legs tho, after every lead out of the goal square he takes a massive u-turn into the next suburb to get back )
The final qtr was pretty much Piara grinding it out to not let it be a blow out, Piara looked like they were out of legs and if it wasn’t for big Sandi pushing back into the backline things would of been a lot worse.
This week we see Brentwood take on Snesa at Brentwood. Last game there was a nail biting finish. I think if Snesa can bring that hard attacking style footy again they could possibly get over the line. I think Brentwood would of taken away a lot from the last match with Snesa and Barry would of done his homework.
Brentwood by 3 goals
Piara v Mossy, well from all reports Mossy very impressive last week. As for Piara they have a bit of prep work to do for this weekend. I’m expecting both to bring the same intensity in a hard hitting contest. Should be a full house at Piara pavilion and with the crowd behind the home side I’m tipping them to get up by 7 points
