Well a big week in footy with some wet and windy conditions to go with it. Firstly we seen a wet weather footy master class from Masto and the SNESA boys up at the bull ring. That win puts a bit of breathing space between second and third. Brentwood did what Brentwood did best and now become the hunted in the back half of the season. A massive effort from Piara to get up over Kwinana to keep them in touch with the 5. Mossy with a dominant win over Coolbinia. Lastly the valley boys couldn’t hold on as Gossy came away with the win with only 17 and a half players left in the last quarter a great gutsy effort from the Gossy boys.

Here we are lady’s and gents. Halfway through the season and this is what things are looking like. Ladder positions and my observations of teams of what iv seen and herd. Very close ladder from 3 to 8 really with valley in 9th not out of the running just yet but they do need a miracle.

1, Brentwood, the team to beat..... full stop. Very impressive hard running both ways with good skills and have good key position players also. Making up for what they lost last year and definitely proving a point. Will be hard to catch,

2, SNESA, well the big name inclusions have definitely helped. Could be the team to really challenge Brentwood. Injuries in there twos and thirds may start to hurt them in the back half.

3, Quinn’s, love to get down and dirty. They have some good in and under mids, probably not the fastest team but still manage to hold there skills. Good depth in twos also.

4, Kwinana, started strong then went quite, managed a few more wins and got done by Piara. Probably a team that relies too much on one or two players.

5, Mossy Park, belted Gossy in rd1 really challenged Brentwood in rd4 then had a disappointing loss to valley in rd8. Need to really challenge these teams above them and have a big winning statement.

6, Piara Waters, needed a four quarter effort and that’s what they produced on last weekend, they have probably the best ruck in the comp and need to use that more to there advantage. If they play four quarters they will challenge for the top 5.

7, Gosnells, hard to tell were they are at the moment, a bit inconsistent and probably relies too much on Woodsy. I find Woodsy is more dangerous when he floats forward and kicks goals. A great team effort on last week but need to see more of that in the back to have me convinced.

8, Coolbinia, will now fight to try and stay out of relegation, have only beaten valley, warnbro and Gossy. Could be the team that takes a claims a big win in the second half??

9, Swan Valley, obviously not having the year that they would of liked too. Pulled of an upset win against Mossy and just missed another on the weekend! Need to win games and fast or it’s lights out for the valley boys.

10, warnbro.... wow, I didn’t see this coming if I’m honest. Looking at a double drop in grades in two years! At the end of the day this might be what the club needs to reset and rebuild. It’s going to be a long second half of season for this club.

 Thanks everyone

Great write up KTB and can’t disagree with anything you’ve said.

Brentwood have had the dream run and look unstoppable… thay being said undefeated into the finals is an ammo’s curse and I think those SNESA boys can give them a run on their day, piara also have a great engine room with sandi in the ruck. Finals experience and could cause headaches at the business end.
