Well the first week of competition had some close, hard fought games as well as some blowouts.

Round 3 shapes up with some cracking games.

Armadale vs Freo CBC - I actually tipped Armadale to be the big improvers this year, with Winston Abraham taking over the helm and the club adding a colts team. Unfortunately that didn’t quite eventuate with a bit of a touching up at home against OP.
CBC going down in a close on against Uni, who have traditionally been strong.
I’m going to go with CBC in this one, purely based on last week’s result and the depth within the club.
CBC by 4 goals.

North Freo vs TA’s
North Freo will not be happy with the touching up they got by North Beach. Was it a case of North Beach being a cut above, NF just not being up to it, Covid or a bit of all of the above.
TA’s will be happy with their comeback win over one of the grade’s stronger sides in Forrestdale.
Going on last week’s form I’m going with TA’s by 10+ goals

Forrestdale vs Nolla
Both will he disappointed with their losses last week, perhaps more so Forrestdale who I’d tipped as a contender this year.
Perhaps if they start playing some of their league players in the league team and joy at 12.30 then the results will improve.
Either way, I don’t see much of a contest in this one with Forrestdale winning by 15 goals.

Noranda vs Osborne Park
My early flag tip vs the continual improver. Both will be very happy with their round 1 performance and both appear to have built steadily on their strong 2021 seasons.
Noranda looked all class against a depleted nollamara, sweeping them aside in brutal fashion. Osborne park will also be happy with their big win over Armadale.
I think this one will be a ripper of a contest, but think that the level of WAFL experience across Noranda will see them over the Saints by 3 goals.

Uni vs North Beach MOTR
I’ll go out on a limb and say that I feel these 2 are the deepest batting clubs in the PFL, and  that will be evident when these 2 go at it tomorrow.
Uni had a hard fought win over CBC, while North Beach obliterated North Freo.
While this will be a cracking contest, it’s the depth of North Beach that will get them over the line tomorrow.

Best of luck to all teams.

Well done to Armadale on their first win of the season today against Fremantle CBC, and also to the colts for their first win today. Lets hope for many more to come.

so highpants just wondering if you can expand on your opinion about forrestdale playing league players in reserves????
22 players that lined up against TA's first week look like all league players, as well as the weekend just gone.
Know something we dont?????

When you haven’t lost a game in the 2’s for the best part of 2 years, but the league team are only mid-table, I’d say you can draw your own conclusions.

A 200 point win on the weekend in the ressies, yet the league only get over the line by 6 against a team who lost by 25 goals a week ago probably also raises some questions.

so by middle of the table you mean losing a prelim by a goal, last time of checked that was finishing top 4. the year before went undefeated in league only to lose the grand final.
pretty sure the 22 players in league team last week made up the best 22 players available at the club. maybe it is different at your club
oh also it was 8 goals as well, maybe you should stick to drawing pictures instead

4th place in a 9 team competition would be mid table mate.
Perhaps if a few of those 2’s ‘superstars’ had played up during the year and finals, you’d be up in C3 now too.

For what it’s worth, I was very glad to see your 2’s get it done over those cheating pricks in the Grand Final last year, but I think you’re only kidding yourself if you think there’s a good few blokes in the best 22 who are taking the easy option and not playing up at the moment.

given my knowledge of who is picked each week nah i am not, we pick the best 22 every week. i would say there is not one player in our reserves that is playing down to take the easy options. we are no different to any other club we are trying to win a premiership in our league first.
but please let me know who these superstars are in the reserves team????
