Was away for the prelim final but from reports was a good round of footy! Brentwood & Piara advance to the GF and promotion to C2. Canning had a very good finals series and will take a lot from it for next year being a young team also. Brentwood reserves go out in straight sets disappointing for a year dominated by them, but its anyone's game on the day...

Now to the final games of the season!

Reserves - Canning vs Piara 
Canning and Piara have had each others measure throughout the season very different team structures i believe. Gil Fraser Reserve is in between the two clubs oval sizes so no real advantage here and fine day with a little wind. Piara had the wood in the first final and will want revenge here. 3 goals

League - Brentwood vs Piara
Brentwood have finally beaten piara and will be confident coming into this match, Piara will be hungry to get revenge and learnt a lot from the loss. Both teams are very even in style and class. This will be a nail bitter 1 goal and a Piara day to get the choccies    

That’s right Bulldog, it’s been a great final series and now we see the two best face off at old Gill Fraser for an exciting game. Piara have come up a grade and really proved them selves worthy almost smashing every team, Florio has done a great job coaching this side two years in a row! To be honest i never thought brentwood would of been in a GF come end of the season, but I’m glad they proved me wrong, a new coach and a couple of handy players have led them down the road of success.

Piara Waters v Brentwood 
piara got the jump during the season taking out both games, in the semi Brentwood managed to get one back. Both teams have great talent all over the ground with Brentwood set to be tested in the ruck by the dominant big man Sandi. I’m sure both teams will want to take control early and this will know doubt be a fast paced game.

Piara Waters v Canning 
well all the grand final players from cannings 2010 victory have come out of the wood work and have proved they all still got it, add that with some fast paced youth and you have a recipe for success. Piara ressies have had a few changes to there list from last year but have still put together a solid performance this year.

strange to see that winnacott has two colts teams and no seniors?? Hopefully they stick around to help build the club back up again.
Secrets I’m sure with a massive bus trip for the club to come watch this big game.

Great day for football down at Gill Fraser, sun was out and the wind slightly favoured one end of the ground. large crowd and thanks to the North Fremantle football club for there hospitality. Piara win back to back and make the move up to C2.

i just missed the colts as I was tidying up a few things at work, but from all reports it was a great game and secret harbour got up in a close one by one point.

for the ressies canning I thought started well kicking against the breeze as they had multiple forward entry’s but couldn’t convert, Piara made the most of there opportunity’s up forward with a quick start. Piara had all momentum in the second and third with a handy lead before canning kicked a late couple of goals with the breeze to make the scores more respectable.
interesting to see Piara had a lot of regular players out including there captain which I later found out that he hadn’t got picked, also the best on ground winner had only played two games of ressies for the year as he was a regular thirds player, well done to him and I hope he didn’t have to many stitches in his head.

well the league game was about to start and Brentwood sure made a loud entry.... probably could of been herd from across the river. The games proceedings started well with the PA system not working but the PFL representatives did a great job getting everyone involved to sing the national anthem. The game started well with a few little bumps push and shoves and the Brentwood supporters remained loud in the grandstand. Piara settled kicking the first few before a late goal by Brentwood to get there vocal crowd back onboard. Piara managed to keep Brentwood scoreless in the second qtr and after half time Piara had managed to do enough to hold off Brentwood (and silence there crowd)as they kicked a couple of goals but the score could of looked a lot worse if Piara kicked straight. #13 clearly best on ground by a far mile as he was winning everything, sandi rucked well giving his mids best use and the tall full forward once again was causing headaches. #1 for Brentwood battled hard as well as #27 who pushed forward and back.
All out I thought the game was played in good spirits and hard and fair by both teams.

Someone told me that there may have been a party bus turn up to Gill Fraser reserve Saturday dropping a number of supporters off. That would have been an interesting ride home especially if it was full of Brentwood supporters
