Week 2 of finals has not gone as planned for some of the clubs. The results of the games at Lightning Park may have surprised a lot of people.

Ressies
Stirling 9.6 60
Osb Pk 9.9 63
Stirling were up by 5 goals at 3/4 time and looked to be in full control and kick away in the last quarter. Osb Park dug deep and kicked the winner with about 30 odd seconds left on the clock eliminating Stirling in straight sets. Congrats to Osb Pk. I don’t think anyone expected this result except for Osb Pk. They will head to Cross Park next week to take on Rossmoyne. During the year these 2 sides won at their own grounds so anything could happen here. Can the fairy tail continue for Osb Pk?

Forrestdale 10.14 74
Rossmoyne 10.1 61
A new look side by Rossmoyne were fired up at Richard Guthrie Reserve applying huge amounts of pressure to Forrestdale. They looked rattled early but weathered the storm for the first half. The second half was as good as the first but the composure of Forrestdale kicked the last 2 goals to stretch the lead out to 13 points. Forrestdale have earned the week off now and wait for next weeks encounter between Rossmoyne and Osb Pk to see who they meet in the GF.

League
Noranda 11.3 69
Forrestdale 14.9 93
This game was a ripper. Forrestdale got out to an early 3 goal lead but Noranda kept coming back kicking goals of there own. Every time Noranda got close, Forrestdale would dig deep and kick away again. This was a classic game of 2 sides just going at it. In the end Noranda just couldn’t keep up and got over ran by a very determined Forrestdale side. Noranda exit the Finals in straight sets. Forrestdale will meet Roleystone next week in the Prelim at Cross Park. That will be one to watch as these sides have a bit of history.

Stirling 15.9 99
Roleysone 9.11 65
First time these sides met this year thanks to Covid rounds. A tough game with lots of pressure and tackling. Roleystone made Stirling earn every possession in this game as both sides believed they would crack the other. Roleystones missed opportunities in front of goals definitely was a factor in Stirling wrestling the upper hand. Roleystone won the last quarter but couldn’t put it on the scoreboard to create enough scoreboard pressure. They will now have to go home and prepare for Forrestdale. Stirling will be happy that these 2 sides will be going at it next week while they rest up and get ready for the GF.

Good luck to all sides next week and remember that football is a great reason to head to Cross Park for a few beers and cheer on the teams you dislike the least haha. I will definitely be there to watch both of these games. They will be fast paced and full of action.
