A interesting weekend of footy with a few results going the other way than expected. The Cottesloe football club had a bad week with both teams eliminated reserves played it out til the last quarter and league didn’t quite turn up. Credit to Belmont & Canning taking out the win’s tho. At the other oval piara took it up to canning managing to hold onto there lead. Then Brentwood manage to take the match out with secret harbour leading most of the day with the breeze favouring Brentwood in the last helped them home. 

Semi final 1 Reserves 
Piara vs Belmont - Piara have had the result taken away them over a ineligible player. So have to take the second chance here. Belmont took care of Cottesloe in a close match will be up and about. The ground favours Belmont being bigger but I feel piara have the more skilled team here. 4 goals

Semi final 2 Reserves 
Brentwood vs Canning - Brentwood had the week off and rested a few sore bodies ready for this week. Canning had a gift given them a easier passage and will want to take it with both hands. No clear ground advantage being a smaller oval. Brentwood will be fresh and ready to go will get up here just 1 goal

Semi final 1 League 
Secret Harbour vs Canning - secret harbour played well from reports and could’ve taken Brentwood’s spot but not to be second chance here. Canning really surprised me with a huge… win over Cottesloe who were in form but canning are in form now and can’t be taken lightly. Home team will be ready and hopefully will get the Win 3 goals 

Semi final 2 League 
Piara vs Brentwood - Piara had a week off and probably needed it after the bruising contest against this opponent again Brentwood who did what was required to get the chance to play for the GF and promotion. Piara will be confident with the last game being a blow out. It won’t be like that this match being a final series. But it’s the form team that I pick here piara 3 goals 

Dont clubs get a list of eligible players for finals, you used to? 

Not sure on that PH but found out he played 3 league 3 ressies & 1 thirds and wasn’t qualified…

Everything is done digital these days I guess PH.
piara very lucky not to be stood down out of finals, from memory a few years back a team made the same mistake and were kicked out.
also this particular player 3 league 3 ressies and 1 thirds so obviously a fifo player for the club. Has not even played half the season and surly other players would of been up for selection! Oh well what’s done is done.

Secret Harbour v Canning 
secrets really pressed hard last week and took it right up to Brentwood, leading for most of the until Brentwood finally switched on in the last. Moved the ball well and with pace also. Canning very impressive against a highly ratted cott who will know doubt be disappointed losing both results on the day at there ground. The young cubs now have a big task to travel south and will know doubt fancy themselves especially after last weeks effort, they will have to do it by themselves tho as cannings ressies are now at piara and there women’s at home.
ill stick with the home team in this one.

Piara Waters v Brentwood 
a rematch of the last round were piara blew Brentwood out of the water, I’m sure brentwood would want to peg this one back and hand piara there first loss for the season. Not so much of a physical game last week for Brentwood so I’m sure they still have plenty in the tank, they will need to shut down some of the crafty ball movers and there dangerous forwards if they want to have any chance. I’m expecting this one to be a lot closer this time although piara at home will be to good and they will book there ticket to the big dance.

belmont v Piara 
down south travel for both so no advantage, well I didn’t think belmont had it in them last week and I got proved wrong, very impressive as they played typical hard nosed belmont football. Piara got up but not convincingly over canning only to have that taken away from them, hopefully they pick the right players this week.
Piara by 4 goals 

brentwood v Canning 
brentwood well rested and got to see canning in action on there home deck last week. For Piara’s mistake canning have now earned a second chance if they can’t break through. 
Brentwood by 13 points

The PFL doesn’t send out a list but have sent out instructions on how to run the report on games played. It takes less than a minute to run. Also when you enter the players names in SportsTG team sheets  it has a Q next to their name if they have played 4 in that grade during the season.

Unfortunately for Piara, this year was 4 games to be qualified for a grade. If the player in question played 3,3 &1 then he could only play league even if ressies were playing on same day as he’s club qualified (4 games or more for the club but not in 1 grade) not grade qualified.

I remember a similar incident happening to Ballajura v Dianella Morley in a ressies qualifying final back in 2014 from memory.
