Well the final round of the year is upon us and the top 4 all locked away, all that this round will count for is ladder positions and venues next week.

Piara bounced back in a big way, with an utter demolition job over North Beach to round out the regular season. With the week off before a rematch with Forrestdale, was it a good preparation though?

Forrestdale took care of Osborne Park fairly comfortably and are now in a prime position to take top spot. A fantastic effort from a club who were right down the bottom last year and credit to all on the committee for this.

Roley had a big win over Bayswater up the hill. Roley have now strung a couple of big wins together and will be looking to secure the all-important home final when they take on the Rhinos at the Shelley mudpit. As for Baysie, a year of significant improvement points to a bright future.

A case of crisis averted for Rossmoyne who secured a finals berth and completely obliterated Noranda up on their home deck. If not for some wayward kicking, this one could of been a lot worse.
Noranda confirmed what we all suspected, stacking the reserves in pursuit of a 2's flag.

Round 9-

Forrestdale Vs Noranda
Forrestdale at home in front of their big, vocal crowd will be far too good for Noranda. How many players will Noranda look to get qualified for their reserves tilt in this one?
Falcons by 10 goals.

Osborne Park Vs North Beach
A fair bit of improvement from OP as the season has gone on. The last 2 weeks probably haven't been as close as they'd of liked, but they have taken on 2 of the powerhouses of the competition. As for North Beach, nothing but praise for the guys rocking up week in week out against clubs 1's and 2's.
Osborne Park to have a big win and end their season on a high. OP by 10+ goals

Bayswater Vs Manning
Both clubs have improved a lot in 2020, but Bayswater will have that little bit too much class and run out winners in this one by 5 goals. Credit to both clubs on their seasons this year.

Rossmoyne Vs Roleystone MOTR
Both were expected to play finals and both have locked in their finals spots for 2020. A dress rehearsal for next week's elimination final, that decides on the all-important home ground advantage. Both sides are very physical, so i expect there to be fireworks at some point in the game too.
Both have been playing some good quality football of late, so I expect this to be a cracker.
Home ground advantage will be big for Rossmoyne on their big, wide ground. Given they have the home ground advantage and will want to retain this for the following week, I'm tipping them by 2 goals.

Best of luck to all sides this weekend, particularly those playing their final game of the season.

Great write up Highpants

yes the ladder looks to be set apart from roleystone and rossmoyne, the winner plays at home next week and no matter what happens, these 2 teams will play each other 2 weeks in a row. Roleystone would have the bigger home ground advantage imo because it's so small and in front of alot of home fans so the win for them is far more important. Forrestdale will finish top and have a rematch with Piara at home to see he goes through to the grandy first.

Forrestdale vs Noranda
This game will be no problem for Forrestdale as they will basically play against Norandas reserves. Noranda will worry more about the game at 1:05. I wouldn't think it would feel as good winning a premiership in reserves from dropping players back imo. each to their own. Forrestdale will be hoping for no injuries out of this game and will be more focused on going into next week in form. Forrrestdale by 12 goals

North Beach vs Osborne Park
North Beach can't wait for the season to be over in this grade and will focus more on C5 apart from the obvious A grade sides. Ossy park will will enjoy a win in this game and there 2nd for the season to finish off the season on a positive. OP by 8 goals

Bayswater vs Manning
Both of these side have seemed to improved the way they play but really they have just finished in the same position as last year so can we call it improvement? Forrestdale would be the definition of improvement, This will be a close game but I think Bayswater will get up in front of there home fans to finish the season positive. Bayswater by 2 goals.

Rossmoyne vs Roleystone
Obviously MOTR the winner will get a home final next week. This should be a great game and will depend alot on who Rossmoyne have available. Roleystones results have been quite consistant and i think they will rise to this occasion and win a cracker by 2 points.

Only a 36 goal victory by Piara Waters over North Beaches 3rds . Lucky that the quarters have been shortened this year or it would have been easily a 45 goal win. North Beaches 3rds have been dominant the last few years in D1 and shows that there must be a big gap in standard been C4 and C 5 as North Beaches 5s and 6s are 2nd on the ladder in C5.

Final round for the regular season before the serious stuff begins. Anyone have any thoughts on were they think the c4 grandy will be played?
Piara have the last week off and has maybe come at a good time to rest some bodies right before finals, no doubt the coaches might just wonder down to Forrestdale to watch and prep for the following week.

Forrestdale v noranda
Noranda to probably not even show up or just forfeit. All there energy and effort now into there ressies side for finals, noranda and Forrestdale ressies are 2 v 3 on the ladder and should be a great game.
Forrestdale by 10+ goals

North beach v Osborn Park
Beach boys have had to grind out the season copping beltings every week, good on them for sticking it out. On a side note what happens if they get relegated to c5, will there be 2 beach sides in c5 next year?
Osborn Park by 8 goals

Bayswater v manning
Two improved sides for the year? I’d say Bayswater won that battle, only just. The new manning coach got some ressies players from secret harbour to follow him with the move but I don’t think have made much of an impact as I thought they would. I’d like to see either two teams playing finals next year.
Bayswater at home by 2 goals

Rossy v Roley
Well plain and simple.., Winner gets a home final. A good rehearsal for the following week, but the big question is that can the winner win two hard fort games then come up against either Forrestdale or Piara? It’s going to be a tough couple of weeks.
Rossy by 9 points

Good luck to all this weekend.

Everyone has done a fantastic write up finally back from work but really enjoyed the live stream last week even thou it was a reslly bad game to watch, i think roleystone wouldnt be to worried watching that, lots of mistakes.
With everyone else playing for marbles im not going to tip any other games as they are really non events, but congrats to all for getting the season going its a credit to all teams in all grades.
Rossy vs Roley
Well this is the game with signifigance this week as we heard the loser will travel so big for both teams, it wont be as close as we think i believe Roley to dish up Rhino soup tomorrow and get them up the mountain next week EASILY, they will be to tough for Rossy with Sam Lewis to dominate but unfortunately both sides cant beat the top 2 that we all know but Roley for me to the tune of 5 goals and pretty much finals over for Rossy

Final round it’s been a quick season which I haven’t minded in some state and heard the players say the same thing. Piara have the bye and will rest up for a big final series they’d be hoping for noranda to pip forrestdale but highly doubt it.

Forrestdale v noranda
Noranda I thought at the start of the year had a strong team but had to gel wasn’t to be... forrestdale improved dramatically and hope to go all the way. Noranda and Forrestdale ressies will be the match to watch in hindsight.
Forrestdale by 10+ goals

North beach v Osborn Park
NB credit to them they have showed up each week and doubled up in some cases, OP were in shambles early this year but with the short season they tried to turn it around next year will be there abouts.
Osborn Park by 6 goals

Bayswater v manning
I would agree with not being massively improved with the likes of forrestdale but have recruited not badly only if they could retain for next year and go one better for finals possibly then say they are improved for both sides.
Bayswater 2 goals

Rossy v Roley
Winner gets a home final. Will both teams go hard or hold off for the elimination game time will tell, Roley May struggle with the bigger ground and not having the crowd in there favour. Watching a bit of last weeks game on the live stream Rossy controlled the game well just skill errors let them down, pick it this week and should take care of Roley.
Rossy by 3 goals

Good luck to all this weekend.

Well the final round of the season has come and gone, perhaps a couple of surprises with the margins in a few of the games and a close one between Baysie and Manning to round out their seasons.

Forrestdale ran riot over Noranda, to the tune of 117 points. Great season for the Falcons who have locked themselves in at home in an exciting semi this weekend. Noranda have copped a lot on this forum for their team selections this year and unsurprisingly had another 10 goal win in the reserves over a top 4 team.
Well done to the Falcons on getting both sides into finals after coming out of obscurity last year.

Osborne Park see out the year on a high with a big win over a gallant North Beach. Credit to the beach on battling on throughout the year in a number of mismatches. Osborne Park seem to be a bit of a younger team than i remember from years gone by, so fingers crossed for them that they retain these players and continue their rebuild.

Baysie finish a credible 6th, which is probably the highest they have finished in this grade for a very long time. If they can continue this form and sure up their depth a bit in the 2's, i'm sure the only way is up for them.
Manning have been much improved on last year despite only the 1 win. Their percentage shows that they could compete with the better teams for periods, so I'm sure they'll take something from this year.

The MOTR didn't quite live up to expectations, with Rossmoyne having all the answers to shutdown Roleystone and lock in a home final on their huge ground next week.
I don't know how much you can take from this one, as one side may have been resting players or even had one eye on next week.
I'm sure there will be plenty of lessons learned by the Tigers going into this weekend, so I do expect a better showing 2nd time around. Rossmoyne do seem to have found another gear of late and having both teams at home in finals this weekend, makes for an unenviable task for the tigers.

Congratulations to Forrestdale, Piara and Rossmoyne for getting both of their sides into finals, as well as Roley on their league and Noranda on their reserves*. Looking forward to a fantastic weekend of fixtures on a sunny Spring day this weekend.

I just noticed with the final ladder in C4.

Every team beat the team(s) below them in the final ladder position throughout the season.

Which makes the wins from the ladder position go 8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1,0
