Sssssssshhhhhh... I dont want to lose Jye Bolton

switching over to a channel only an hour or so ago - I mistakenly plugged into a Vicco story about Richmond FC

and for the first time live I caught a clip of Marli's blind backward feign 360 degree turn in the Grand Final debut - even though a good mate sent it months ago by phone thingo

threw me back to vividly recall his first league game against the East Perth alignment - I was spellbound & absolutely stoked that we had somehow & from somewhere snared one of those old time freaks that footy sometimes gifts us old bastardries of the game

Marli did some bloody mesmerising things that day and he just got better and better and then way way better again after we finally lost Tim Kelly
Tim Kelly may be a touch faster but to be honest Marlion Pickett has some of the most wickedly unbelievable ball skills that even Maurice Rioli , Benny Vigona & Philip Narkle would nod and giggle at
thing is , Marlion does it every single game no matter where and against who and it surprised me greatly he didn't go before TK he is just that good

Now it is here that it is proper to acknowledge that Swan Districts played an initial part in our boy's roots and that footy got an unorthodox character once more

And even more Marlion is just such a nice bloke and a good Dad it was a just bloody great to see him playing for us at South Fremantle - I loved to watch him , jesus he reminded me so much of those champions I mentioned above

Agree Southerner it's such a treat to see a naturally gifted and instinctive footballer ply his trade, over the years the indigenous boys have provided that in spades. Would have been nice to hear the Vic's and Richmond in particular acknowledge that it was the WAFL/Souths that gave him a chance to rehabilitate and rebuild his life. He was a class act before he ever crossed the border.

I remember a game against sf a few years ago and we were leading comfortably then souths moved pickett from half back into the guts and he turned the game and I think sf even hit the lead, then for some unknown reason they moved him back to half back and we went on to win comfortably. I thought they must’ve been trying not to give too much away and saving the move for the finals. But they didn’t use him in the guts in the finals against us which dumbfounded me
