Ok forget about the first 2 games they are gone! Time to focus on the next game and take the form shown in the last 10 minutes against the demons & give the garlic munchers a run for the money. Don't think there will be too much changes to the side but depends on how McCarrey is after copping a blow right on the final siren!!! Do any of the South insiders have any info on his injury?

It wasn't McCarrey, it was Schloithe. He seemed ok as he walked off the ground by himself.

I reckon it might be a close game, not convinced about West Perth yet.
South looked good in patches last week.

Going to be a tough one for us, but you never know!

Just wondering who on here is going down, can't beleive we only have one Friday night game, which means it will be another tough year for the bar to make a quid.

Friday nights are great down at Freo on warmer nights and better than Saturday arvos and crap on Sunday games.

lets hope we get a couple of thousand there tonight at least, although WP have one of lowest attendances at Freo in recent years.

Well that was a tough friggen game to watch and walk away from feeling anything positive really.

3 F$#@ING points!!!

Here is my spin on it.

Lost McCarrey before the game - Underdone Shergza came into the 22. Really missed him tonight as a possible forward tonight as the forward line for structure and tall targets was a shambles. Gumby again was the only tallish target. He did a good job getting it but he can't kick goals and his overall disposal skills are way below par.

Without Saunders and McCarrey we are really gonna struggle for targets.

Giving WP a 33 point buffer mid way through the second quarter was always going to be tough to pull back but I am glad we didn't throw in the towel and get pumped by 10 goals like it was looking like.

Got to a lead of 6 points at 3/4 time but some loose maning up gave WP 2 snaps for goals which took away our momentum.

Too often tonight we wanted to play perfect football and hadball 4-5 times to try and give it to the eventual free man in a close contest. Doesn't happen like that anymore especially in the first half of of game when it is huge pressure and a good team. Works at training, looks good but at some point you need to get the focking thing on your boot and clear the congestion going FORWARD.

Not convinced about Banner as yet. Seems to like to kick a goal, run forward and seagull at bit for mine and doesn't apply enough pressure when it is needed. He also hurt I think was a calf and was no good after half time. Will be a loss if he can't come up during the next few weeks.

Umpires still have way too much influence on games and guess on behind the play incidents. 2 examples, 1 from each club resulted in goals. Umpire purely guessed because no one saw the incident but just a bloke on the ground.

No real agressors at SF this year. No real nasty hard nuts who will cause of bit of fear in others. Need a few of them to help out the youngsters.

Tighe worked hard again and played well, Miller was consistent, Gumby good as the only target but shocking disposal, Gugs and Winter somehow kicked 7 between them and the young backline made some crucial errors but held firm really well after quarter time I thought.

WP were too slick in the first 45 mins, we had a few blokes who continued to fumble all night. Martinez the worst offender.

2 posters and some real clangers in front of goal cost us, (Gumby for one if you were there you will know what I mean.)

Maskos shows some courage and poise, Carter got more of the ball tonight as did Schloithe, Bairstow got his share of the ball but we need a lift from Cook, Grima and Adams. More pace and breaking up the packs is needed from these 3.

Hopefully we can start to see Adam Carter, Andreoli, Borovac, Burnett (all playing ressies on Sat) start to push for a league spot along with Verrier, Lynch and Lowrie.

Good to see a Matera and a new addition in young Rioli lining up tomorro in the 2's.

Need to win against SD and get over the line early on in the season before all is lost.

Good effort but what does that get ya??

Great recap Dogman. Hard to line up the form against Cardies who have beaten an East Perth side who could never play that bad again, let a big lead slide and just got over Subi due to match hardness, and again let a lead slip last night. Falcs have yet to convince me they are any better than last season yet.

Not a bad effort by south last night , had a chance to grab the four points but blew it a guess, forward line hopeless, lack of height, nothing in the ruck and gumby had a shocker.

Not a bad nights entertainment , can't beleive we are a few weeks in and that is our first home game, some good changes to to the centurions area.

About 2000 there, not that great for a perfect night.
