Missed a great day Southies...

Sadly you werent the only one, thought the crowd was well down on expectations, given perfect weather, no Afl, and our first final at home and all 3 grades playing on the day...

I was hoping for 5000 at the very least, looked like 3000, unfortunately the footy is no longer a priority for a lot of folk.

3801 according to the press. Up by about 1000 compared with the 2015 qualifying final. The live TV coverage would have impacted on the attendance.

Great team effort ....Great to see an even team performance and one that will give the group confidence leading into their 2nd Semi clash V Subi this weekend.
The defence stood up early, although let a few in late when the heat went out of the game. I am not a fan of SOA (Son of Arthur) but it is what is and nothing will change. Makes far too many mistakes and his decision making and skills are poor...Not sure what Vandalur needs to do to retain his position in the team.

Colts were outlclassed by a very slick Claremont outfit and will need to improve to get anywhere near the Royals next week who will be bolstered by the return of Powell - Pepper.

Reserves were teriffic in the first quarter and then could not hit the scoreboard after quarter time. Claremont were just marginally better at the clutch moments in the game and the reserves live to fight another day V the Sharks. Will need to put a stronger 4 quarter performance and keep scoreboard pressure on the oppo next week. Will be a tough proposition but not hopeless task.

Watched it on TV and the crowd looked more than 3800 but Freo has a compact outer so makes the crowd look bigger I guess.

SF won the game in the first 10 mins with that dazzling 5 goal opening, after that Joondy were playing catchup. Credit to WP for fighting back in the 2nd but they looked gassed at halftime and SF rolled over them in the second half.

The 2 key forwards were dominant and if Saunders had kicked straighter he could have had 7 or 8. Mids were full of run but apart from the 2nd qtr there was not a lot of pressure. Subi's backs and mids will give a much better contest I think but if you carry that form into next week it will be a ripper of a game. Higgins was massive in the ruck and given he was up against real quality in Keunen he was just about your most influential player.

Lets hope we get the same sort of weather next sunday so the two best teams in the comp can put on a great show.

Yeah I did DG and while Peel looked good you have to look at the lack of competition they had from that shell of a club. When WART did make an effort to compete in part of the 2nd the 3rd term they managed to run easily though the FART players but without any semblance of a forward structure could not impact the scoreboard. They will find Joondy are far more committed and organized opponent next week.

Remember it only took us about 20 minutes of good footy to put away a similar FART team a couple of weeks ago and that was without Horse, Phez and Dela. hopefully they'll be full of themselves after their fake first finals win and Joondy can catch them out early, they will need to target Deboer and Mzungu early with a full on physical assault and also find someone to negate Yazz who did what he liked against WART.

yes SS...but FART didn't have Zac Clarke, Apeness, Yarran, Silvani, Collins, Blakely, Suban in that game just to name a few....

True Senior they weren't much chop for the most part. I'm sure joondy will hit peel hard, a wet day would be nice. Apeness and Josh were good I thought, that clip at the end of Yaz and Josh celebrating a goal was upsetting
