Anyone else think that there may be something in this idea that AFL clubs are steering away from drafting aboriginal boys because of some perceived issues?

Marvin Warrell to me was a cert for the draft but was overlooked in it and the rookie draft. Couple of colts GF, won the medal for BOG this year and some state 18's footy behind him too. Has the Garlett thing filtered through to other players maybe?

I can tell you from good authority that the the signing of Aboriginal players has, and will continue to decline in the AFL, the clubs have been stung too many times and are not going to be prepared to take them on board unless they come from a highly stable family/up bringing !

If thats true its a national disgrace, Ben Cousins came from a stable backround, so did Mainwaring, look how they turned out in the end! F##kin drug addicts, same with Fevola and a myriad of white players, look its great for the WAFL as they stay in our comp (hopefully) but a joke in reality, but the AFL is a joke of a comp anyway and doesnt resemble anything of the great days of the VFL
