Well the financials have just been realised ,,,and we are in the crap big time, the club recorded a 300,000 loss this fy ,,,a shocker,,,

There is some concern in the report as to whether the club will be a going concern beyond the next 12 months...they only have. 200 k left to play with beyond that , the cupboard is bare.

Membership down from 100 k to 56 k
Gate down from 62 to 38k

RIP WAFL...

Easy fellas ...Easy .... this was mainly due to facilties upgrades & maintenance which has to be performed

There will be a concerted push for funds to help the club operate .... we will go on - but get your memberships for 2014 and give your team some coin if you can, it all helps

There are a lot of WAFL clubs in an awful lot of $$$pain. Hopefully Claremont's redevelopment sets them up.
AFL surely needs to put more into the WAFL ( million a year at present?).
South & East need to seriously consider sharing facilities.

Reverting back to the original Port club ground share will only occur if the Town Of East Freo decides to finally sell EF Oval to complete the Richmond Park precinct

For the foreseeable future that will not be happening

That , does not account for the last 4 years of straight losses, and upgrades my arse, we have lost a massive amount of members and the attendances are crap, the easy easy approach just ain't good enough southerner ,,,

And that is the truth of the matter,,,,

In the auditors closing report, on a going concern ...it was more than obvious why Raitg and the board were a total push over re the host club deal....and I quote,,,The board expects additional revenue from the upcoming AFL/WAFL partnering model to be introduced from 1 November 2013.

In other words ...we friggen so desperately need money we had no other choice.

Our attendances have been down ever since Dimmer left and that great side started to unravel Baz .... bit of a dynasty who knows ?????
Believe me , I am not happy with the losses and you should be aware of my "position" on that carnting alignment theory
Truly hope the Fremantle people dig deep and sponsors dig deeper - also hope the bean counters get their shizz together and consolidate
Amazing what a few early wins will do for us in 2014 ..... I will give up the second I touch the angel's feet and only then brother ;)

What were the upgrades / improvements this year? It has been the "reason" for the other losses over the last 3 years.

Very concerning.

How much does this alignment structure give each WAFL club.

The gate and memberships being down doesn't even equate to a third of the total loss. What were the other big losses then?

These results are a little mind boggling knowing that we had over a million in the bank 4-5 years ago and all of the draftees we have had in that time.

Some bad management there and not enough use of the facilities that have been improved and TAB.

Gotta change and gotta change quick.

Ground sharing has to happen when Fremantle Dockers leave. In come the scum down the road.

Not Sure if you have read the Annual Report, but here are the facts..

The upgrades improvements line as you say is a white wash..they spent 20K on sewerage works that was it out of the $300K loss.

100k in depreciation.

That comes on the back of $162,000.00 lost last year.

Five years ago we had $700,000.00 in the bank, we are now down to $197K BUT we have already built up $220K in additional debts.

so for the first time in years we are in the RED.

So as you say all those savings have VAPOURISED in a few years.

Despite the worst attendaces probably in the clubs history, the Bar actually had a slight increase in turnover, stuffed if I know how the bar manager did it but he did, better fixturing for drinkers ( less sundays ) might of helped, anyway his reward was the sack!

Membership collapse is serious and real concern - it has halved in 1 year, the gate is stuffed, and to be honest I cannot see any huge improvement long term in any of that.

The host club deal gets us $120K - which does not even cober the collapse in membership or gate which was $130K in one year!

People are not going to come flooding back to see East Peth win a flag each year, and with the Dockers a real premiership threat - all the focus in freo is on them,,former members cant be stuffed with two memberships south and dockers anymore.
