Just letting people know that I am a dyed in the wool South Fremantle supporter.
Have been for close to 70 years.
And I tink the Doggies will have a cracking seasoon this year.
Looks like they have recruited well.
 

G'day hls. Welcome to the site. I grew up in and around Freo and being the only Subi supporter at school and playing with South juniors wasn't easy. After the Lions won the '73 GF, I put a huge maroon and gold flag on the roof of our house and my old man made me take it down after a week as he was worried the joint would get burnt down.

One of my favourite players of all time still is the late great Maurice Rioli. His sublime skills used to leave me in awe and the amount of time he had to dispose of the ball even to this day is second to none imo.

A lot of my mates still follow the blood stained angels, so have a great deal of respect and affection for Souths.

I was growing up onthe Goldfield around the time of the greatest years.Old man a Cardie, Mum a Old East fan.
Maybe I just jumped on the "Southerners"racing band wagon, Young kids are easliy swayed by success.
As per any team, once the colours are in your blood, there is no returning.
Sure we will have a few discussion.  Who do you follow inthe AFL?
Forgot to say that close to my favourite, after TI, is Benny the Jet.An amazing footballer.
 

I follow Freo in the AFL hls but don't go to games as I find the AFL in general a bit too commercial and sanitised for my liking. It's a nice mix to go to the WAFL and watch Subi live on a Saturday with my daughter, then head home and tune into the AFL on tv with a glass of plonk.

Far more civilised for mine.

Welcome mate and good to have a new member on the website - even if you are red and white! Will be interesting to see how South go this season with a new coach and some strong inclusions to their playing list. Any AFL alliances HL&S?

Agree totally much prefer to go to the WAFL. Easy to get a park at the venues (except for Bassendean). Generally can sit where you want, you are close to the action and when you yell and scream you can be heard.

Yep, Dockers, through and through.
Always knew that Freo would have to be the next inclusion to stop the Eagles power.
Have been a Freo mman since day one.Or really before they were even born.See my reason above.
