Didn't Shaw suffer a bad back injury several seasons ago? Those injuries are notoriously difficult to fully recover. Perhaps father time catching up with him? He has had a good stint with playing, I think 
about 90 matches for Souths.
But certainly some big boots for Souths to fill from here on.

Us Perth supporters can only dream of producing a key forward capable of winning the Bernie Naylor medal but not be quite good enough for AFL level. When we do produce one ie Logan McDonald he going to be a star in the AFL. The year he did play exclusively for us we played finals.

Bazz you said the same thing at the end of last season but you managed to make finals this year and if freo weren't finalists you might still be in the hunt.

Surprised Shaw never got a look in at Port, really thought he would kick a few decent totals in his AFL career, sadly not to be. Read somewhere Port tried to bulk him up and then the injuries set in. Congrats on a great WAFL career, definitely will be missed up  front by SF.

I think Shaw whilst being a great servant for our club never really lived up to his potential.

of the goals he kicked this year I would suggest the majority were either when we are a long way in front or in junk time…

often went missing in big games including a few finals and more than often dropped his bundle and didn’t work hard enough off the ball.

Time to let some younger and hungrier kids to step up.

Ark they realise that with even one shit season they will lose fans and once lost they are hard to get back in this day and age. In a perfect world if every season was similar to 1992 and 1993 the WAFL would be a lot more popular. All teams competitive and in with a chance
