Mate that all looks pretty good and as a multi use precinct it serves a number of uses, would be nice to see the capacity at 20k rather than 16k especially if it's proposed as a WAFL GF venue. maybe provision for temp stands should the need arise, plenty of space to do so.

There is provision for the top floor of the SFFC rooms to be for the Dorks?? Why would they want to be involved after dumping Freo in favour of Cockburn, if that additional floor goes ahead one would hope it's fully funded by the FFC and not the Freo rate payers and WA tax payers.

far better than what I originally heard - confirmed that the outer will receive major works , more seating across the board and the old Queen has the approvals for overhauling with extras thrown in
The AFLW club receives it's own floor space (seeing as their Men's cohorts still refuse to integrate them at Cockburn for some unfathomable reasoning - but anyway)

some interesting Key points are:
1. The allowance for a second club to be hosted
2. The entire Oval moves back in a Westerly direction once more
3. Far more seating is to be installed as a priority with top quality grassing & park facilities
4. The WAFC is looking for a permanent Grand Final venue if statements from FCC are on the mark
5. we have only 1 out of 8 local ovals meeting standards

I wonder who which oval is the one that meets requirements. Possibly Leederville given the two sets of clubrooms would give plenty of change rooms, the outer has decent terracing, good parking, but the lights and scoreboard are shite.

A lot on here have posted that Freo should not be the permanent GF venue and I agree with that unless they can host 20k but it seems that Optus is not going to be available, a re-vamped Freo oval would be fine, but just for the GF, minor finals should stay at the higher placed teams home ground, every oval can cope with up to 4k which is more than enough for minor finals.

Not shooting the messenger here SS.  Is it satisfactory or acceptable that the WAFC just sit on their collective backsides, do nothing to promote the WAFL and accept an upper limit of under 20k for the GF?

Swan, that's what we have always got from the WAFC and I don't see it changing all that much even after the parliamentary enquiry. We need a rabid WAFL person as Premier or Sport and rec minister, before they will get sufficient pressure put on them to change their disinterested ways.

Personally I would like to see the semis return to a traditional format of being played at a central location like the Subi days.

Claremont and Lathlain are pretty small now.
