Amongst the terrible smell of rancid garlic today, emanating from the WP players, our boys were able to lift above the stink lines, in which was a tight contest for the majority, we slipped into a next gear early in the last and that was that...

McCarthy must lift didn't look fit at all, no Wilson? but young Schelensog could be one of the recruits of the year...

Tremendous game of footy all day - it could not have been a better way to get back into it and the Cardinals were damned hard opposition as I knew they would be after all we were the only finalists fixtured against each other from last year
And we always seem to have tough contests
The Cardies had a high count of tackles for sure and they got a jump early in the 3rd but to the lads' credit they got on a roll and kept them at arm's length from there on
Ninyette is all silk when he gets even a slight sniff around the sticks and we will have some to come back in like Willo & Steve Edwards maybe Florenca if the Achilles heals faster

Well played West Perth and you will play finals again
Cheers boys

We lost the game in the centre, Higgins and the South’s mid fielders just killed us. South’s speed out of the centre was outstanding. South’s will go well this year. West Perth will be up there this year, all one point players and good depth in the seconds. Good crowd too. Keep well all.

Terrific contest, nothing in it most of the day, we only put the foot down early in the last but WP rallied again in draining conditions. In the end we had the goods to see them off.

Dominant big men  showed their worth in the last with marking and Higgins really belted it out of
the Guts.

loved  the chopper arrival of the flag.

club house was full and a decent crowd  in the outter - best turn out of cardies fans I have seen in many a year - well done to them.

GF rematch next week should be a thriller.
