The club has put a statement out saying they will pulling all levers to try and get the GF down at Fremantle Oval, and fair enough as well.

Still think Perth Stadium should hold all WAFL GFs as a suburban venue just devalues the product and event....but in the case of this bizarre 2020 season Fremantle Oval should be next cab off the rank, good atmosphere down at the Port and at least some amenities as you walk out the gate outside a boring big gymnasium.
I still cant believe that soulless, wind tunnel with no shelter Joondalup is even in the discussion as to be honest Bassendean should be at least in the running as well if that place is- holds more people, has more shelter etc, only as MO pointed out Joondalup is for 'political reasons'!

of course in normal circumstances (which aren't here for the forseeable future) we would all want neutral venues for Grand Finals and even in this round robin sort of format I'd rather it be so still
But I guess the club has the venue and the town has the facilities & after game opportunities in Fremantle - and it is easy to get in & out

baz, bh, the fact that South will most likely be in the gf could put the commission off as well

It's a wierd short season of only 8 games, so why not have it at a packed out suburban ground like Freo or Leederville both of which are in good entertainment precincts for before and after, 3rd would be Basso, Joondy would not even be on the same page but our wonderful commission cares so little about the comp it will do what saves it a few bob and to hell with the ordinary punters.

And leederville looks likely to be a neutral venue!!
