Brisbane captain Jonathan Brown is not expected to miss any pre-season training despite being involved in a collision with a car while riding his bike on the Gold Coast today.

The vehicle's windscreen and driver's side window were damaged when it struck the 195cm, 104kg Brown at about 6am (AEST) at a Currumbin Valley roundabout.

Though the car had to be towed away, Brown - who was travelling in a group of about 20 cyclists - was able to walk away from the accident.

He was taken to a Gold Coast hospital by ambulance but was cleared of serious injury after receiving 10 stitches on his elbow.

A Lions spokesman said he expected Brown to run out when the club returned for pre-season training on November 5. "He had scans and it is all OK. He has a few bumps and bruises and one cut. He will be back on deck when the boys return," he told Fox Sports TV.

He said Brown rang the club after the incident to assure them he had not been seriously injured.

"Everyone in the AFL world and the football industry knows how tough Jonathan Brown is - that's why we love him," the spokesman said.

"The Lions would like to thank its many members who contacted the club expressing their concern for Brown's health and wellbeing."

A Queensland Police spokesperson said they were investigating the incident.

The accident extends Brown's rotten recent luck.
He has suffered three facial fractures in the past 20 months - two due to on-field clashes and the other from a training collision.

The Hyundai has been reported by the MRP - the contact was deemed as reckless with medium impact, should get 2 weeks with a early guilty plea.
