Just saw these rule changes for next season in the AFL which I would think, will eventually flow through to the WAFL as well.

- The much-touted 6-6-6 starting positions at centre bounces
- A player no longer has to kick to himself to play on from kick-ins, with the man on the mark now 10m - not 5m - from the top of the square
- Runners are limited to being on the ground only in the dead time between a goal and play re-starting
- Players can play on while a 50m penalty is being marked out
- Players can kick across their body with a set shot after the siren, but must remain in a straight line between the man on the mark and goal
- Hands in the back is now OK at a marking contest - provided there is no push

It is inevitable these rule changes will need to be applied in the second tier competitions. You can't have a completely different set of rules applying at different levels.
