And the WAFC wants to crawl to this lot for 700K a year & have a re-branding for that measly handout to secure their own corporate boxes????

AR Football is in huge trouble

Southener that was the article in thismornings West.The AFL is trying to break the funding deadlock.Between the WAFC+the new stadium managment.
Part of the condition of the AFL funding is the WAFC will become AFLWA.There some conditions attached to the funding like the takeover of the Wafl colts competition.
We know what the AFL wants out of WA .The to AFL Licences for the Eagles and Dockers. What will a rebranded Wafl be called.WaflAFL.Suppose no worse than being called Weststar rules lol.My guess is the Wafl will have the same name as the commission AFLWA.
Mark Duffield just said on the radio.This is a test for the AFL to see if they want to control the game Australia wide.Or just the money in the game.

Quite simply their aim is to DESTROY the WAFL and then the SANFL.

That's apsolute madness Swan.The Wafl is 132 years old.And if you look on the back of Port Adelaide jumper it has 1869 on its back neck part of the jumper.Thats 148 years old.Only Totalitarian regimes try to destroy history.

They have already destroyed the two competitions in Tassie and destroyed the VFA. The VFA pre-dated the VFL.

Tiger Tales just heard that the WAFL.Will become WAAFL.And the women's league will became the new WAFL.Womans Australia Football League.Thats what the AFL wants to do.

No surprises here, this has what has happened in other states to the detriment of local competitions. If the WAFC agree to this name change ,the WAFL will now become a subsidiary of and totally subservient to the mighty AFL. A sad day but unfortunately inevitable given that football is now a business rather than a sport. I may end up following amateur footy as it may be only grassroots part of the game left in a few years.

...And then we'll have the complete indignity of having officialdom try and tell everyone ""why"" it needs to happen.
Doesn't say much for our supposedly modern day and age!
