As a young fella I used to watch Countdown most weeks mainly as it was on before The Winners but when you look back on those old clips it becomes apparent Molly had his own agenda with most of those acts on his show all glam camp types much like the bullshit sugarary pop gobbly gook reality idol shows of today!
Sounds with Donny Sutherland was a far better show with interviews with real Aussie bands of the time like AC/DC, The Angels, Midnight Oil, INXS, Icehouse etc who learned pretty quick to steer clear from Molly's show and his biased push on garbage acts like Indecent Obsession, Peter Andre, Waa Waa Nee etc who all disappeared quicker than David Copperfield after Countdown was axed!

Tend to agree BH. I too viewed the show on most weeks. Shown on Sunday evenings before the 7pm abc news if I recall? I think meldrum was over the top most of the time which is a blight on the show.

Yeah for sure early on but had lost the plot near the end.
