Will Buddy Franklin miss the entire finals series? Stunning news he has been suffering from "an ongoing mental health problem". Sounds to me like his so called back injury that's kept him out for 5 or 6 weeks has been a cover up.

Think you may be right there DD. Mental illness still is largely stigmatised and people are inclined to cover it up rather than be open. I think many would be surprised at the number of people in society generally who are managing depression and other types of mental illness. Mitch Clarks battle has brought it to the fore in the footy arena and I would be surprised if there were not more footballers who are struggling with this. Obviously Buddy is one of them. All fans would wish him a speedy recovery.

Sad that a high profile player can have this, may be a good thing for young suffers of mental health however!
