Apparently Adelaide have sacked Sanderson after 3 years at the helm. Cut throat business coaching footy.

Was it Malthouse(??) that said "there's only 2 types of coaches. Those that have been sacked and those that are about to be".

Lyon will be getting itchy feet this time next year.

I am surprised that he has been given the boot. I thought he was a good coach for the Crows. Seemed the players had a lot of respect for him and that they were taking steps in the right direction.

What amazes me is why these clubs give contract extensions then sack them a year later. At least when Fremantle did it to Harvey they only had one year to pay out and secured an experienced coach. As Mark McClure said on 360 they got spooked by Port Adelaide's success and they don't like it. Looks like another south ausssie will get the gig. There will be heaps of pressure on him to get results.

Yolo I thought he was respected by the players too, however it seems that some of the influential ones were behind convincing to board to sack him. Looks like it has blown up in their faces with Goodwin accepting at Melbourne

@PH - yea the more I read into it the more it seems that the experienced players didnt like the way he was going? I wonder which players these were and if they were just older players set in their ways or not open to new ideas from Sando?
