G7 Clubs take note.

Tough demands made by the AFL in regards traditional Canberra teams funding and forming a single Canberra team for the AFL's reserves sides to "practise" against in the NEAFL has back fired.

Both Queanbeyan Tigers and Belconnen Magpies have given the AFL The Birdy, and elected to pull out of the NEAFL at the end of the season with 2 years remaining on their contracts.

Hopefully they may even be able to cut ties all together and go salvage the ACTAFL which was destroyed by the AFL to form the NEAFL.

Good to see these two clubs stand their ground against the AFL's demands.

Belconnen Magpies 4 premierships 2002, 2003, 2004 (against QBN), and 2009 (against Ainslie).
