Driving home from work this evening and the 6 o'clock newsreader saying the iconic Angels front-man Doc Neeson had passed away. Apparently died in his sleep early this morning.
Very sad news indeed.
First saw the Angels live at the old Entertainment Centre in 1990. They played a concert there alongside Cheap Trick in September of that year. What a brilliant night it was. Saw the Angels perform live at a couple of pub gigs and also at the Bindoon Rock festival. Ah yes, they were the days! ABC tv did an excellent programme about Neeson only a couple of months ago. During the programme, it seemed his brain tumour had shrunk but towards the end of the show, had grown back again. That was the last I heard until the news today.

Sad loss mate, but had been sick for a while, saw him on Australian story only a few ago. He put up a good fight, loved his music, first saw him live in the 80s....great sound and energy. RIP.

Unfortunately another sad loss to the Australian Rock Music industry with Doc leaving us like other Aussie legends like Bon Scott, Michael Hutchence, Chrissie Amphlett, Billy Thorpe, Marc Hunter, Shirley Strachan, Ted Mulry et al.
