the WAFC have stated they would consider housing the state 16's and 17's at Fremantle Oval in what they call a Centre of Excellence. Whatever that means. Seems to be a phrase commonly thrown around by the commission these days. Isnt Leederville their Centre of Excellence ??

There wont be enough room down there for EF so you can almost squash that option.

Gee it is really a Dogs Breakfast at the moment. We had a very good, sound and workable system here in WA, that was having very good results. Semi-Fair media exposure, now hardly any radio broadcasting, TV will be next. There is so much conjecture everywhere you turn now, its becoming scary. The WAFL and the clubs are not on their agenda beyond our lifetimes. Its like the WAFL is a burden on them. They seem to forget the WAFL league made players like Priddis,Rich,Ballantyne,Krakouer,Yarran,Embley,Cousins,Fyfe,Jetta,Coniglio to name just a few. The growth these boys had being exposed at a League level had a huge impact on their development. The mindset of those at the WAFC is nothing like those in charge in South Australia. At least the SANFL has its dignity and you will see a flood of talent filter over there as a result. Its a terribly poor direction they are taking. That is my belief and I know others feel this is going to be detrimental, not effective in an overall sense. If they gauge everything soley on West Coast & Fremantle, they are so dreadfully deluded. You must protect and enhance whats underneath, in order to stay strong. There is no denying when WCE & Freo are successful, its good for footy here financially. But having the biggest and best ship in the world, doesn't mean a hairline crack wont bring down the Titanic. You cant ignore the little things either, or let them deteriorate to the point of no return.

what do you mean about the radio broadcasts? who have pulled out this year? also are ABC still doing the TV or is that off or what??

this is pretty big news the WAFC moving into freo oval from the defunct dockers building, unfortuntaly it sounds like it possible ground sharing with EFFC would be stuffed if that happened.

which of course means financially both sf and ef have nothing to gain from the move.

sounds like the WAFL is fading as a priority very rapidly now, I would guess the whole thing wull be moving to a statebased 16/17s comp for AFL development.

Don't know about that Anchorman .... currently we have very limited ground use , inability to use the ground for anything other than games /training (which is as said - limited)

That commission may as well operate out of a stall at the Subiaco markets given it's management style

There would be room for both East Fremantle & South Fremantle in that building however if this was reality
