You and AM have tunnel vision and do not even get the point. The WAFC does own the licences to both WA sides and the WAFC is state government so what does that have to do with the Federal ALP?
So they selected a club that is successful and has plenty of money - So why not put the money to use in other areas

It is all a political stunt at a cost to the Australian Taxpayer whether they support the Dockers or even the AFL for that matter.

A boost to junior sport? Why didnt they put it all into Junior sport and not just the Dockers project and benefit just the Dockers zone benefiting the Dockers.

You both come up with arguments that are politically motivated..But do not answer the questions I put in my original post.. which was just a political stunt to support the sitting member. I suspect if it was a safe Liberal seat the money would of gone elsewhere!

Cardy some points. I believe the Dockers made representation to the Federal Government about getting some financial support for the project. The money comes from a specific programme for such projects. It is my belief that other AFL clubs would have and will in the future receive finacial assistance for similar projects.

It has nothing to do with it being in the electorate of Fremantle.

Similarly, the Federal Government will be contributing to the cost of the new stadium. Similar, to the Gold Coast and GWS assistance previously.

I won't get into a political discussion here but there are many examples where the Federal Government has contributed to projects in Coalition held seats. In fact the proposed referendum is aimed at provding financial assistance at the Local Government level.

The Wet Toast eagles are looking to move their training base to lathlain in time for the new Burswood stadium opening, so I'm sure they will expect the same level of support from the 3 levels of government.

Do you think east Perth will move to lathlain, if so does Perth go to subi, or do they go to Bassendean ?

A good point. If the alignment is to continue between the EPFC and WCE after the 5 years, then I think it would make sense for a displaced club like East Perth to move to the same ground as the Eagles. If this is Lathlain, then it makes sense.

Would 3 clubs be able to use Lathlain? Why not?

Otherwise it migh be financially sensible to move Perth to co-tennant with Swans at Bassendean.

Does anyone know how the co-tennant situation is benefiting the clubs at Leederville at the moment, ie financially and facility sharing?

Mike.

Not Sure , could they swap with EP and go to Leederville, or could WP move back to Leederville if EP vacate.

Maybe Bassendean is a better option.

3 clubs at Lathlain wont work - just too hard.

Perth should get some compensation, could be the catalyst for much needed ground rationalisation.

Have I missed something here? Exactly why should Perth move anywhere to accomodate the devils incarnate partnership? It is mindboggling that the home club, Perth, should have to move from Lathlain Park Oval to accommodate the club formerly known as East Perth.
