Just announced the 2032 Olympic Games will be in Brisbane.

Given no other city bid for it for obvious reasons no surprises I guess.

It was not likely that another city would be named.  However, there was a possibility that the vote could have been deferred.

What makes me so bloody angry is the Qld premier and the other 3 plonkers "needed" to travel to Japan!! When there was no real pressing reason to do so! They could have stayed home and video called like others are forced to! And apparently everyone knew brisbane had the bid won already even before they departed! Then all the idiots looked ""oh so surprised"" when the 'big' announcement made.    Wonder what I'd be advised if I wanted to attend an overseas meeting!?   Given the high daily virus cases in Japan currently, surely questions need raising as to why permission granted for them to be there. Then what happens upon their return. Will they simply jump the queue!? Or need to wait their turn in the line because too many people been waiting much longer to return? The whole thing stinks!

For full disclosure one of the other "plonkers" was the federal Minister for Sports.  Presumably, they will all be required to do a mandatory quarantine period when they return to Australia.
