The Collingwood mega mouth has finally fallen on his sword, or more to the point, foot and mouth disease finally got him. The bloke has made that many public gaffs it’s not funny where he’s had to come out and apologise. This one took the cake and had the entire nation turning on him. Good riddance, now get ready for the criticism he’ll subtly imply when things aren’t going well for Collingwood on the field. Bucks probably won’t be far behind him without his man crush mate protecting him, or maybe without Eddie casting a shadow Bucks and the players might feel a weight off their shoulders and flourish?

Like Margaret Court you just have to be careful what you say these days.Eddy has been foot in mouth a number of times. That happens but Ed won't disappear in a hurry.
Looks like Ed has been pushed out.Don't think it was the AFL,he wouldn't listen to them.Maby the club's sponsors had a say in this + the games broadcasters.
All the best to you Eddy.

Time was up.

He was certainly great for Collingwood FC, and he was great for Victorian Footy.

But was he really great for the game as a whole nationally? I don't think so, all I remember is him moaning about how hard done by Collingwood was, how Victoria was the heartland of footy and doing all he could to shaft the teams from other States.

The VFL clubs will have to find another loudmouth boofhead bogan now to replace McGuire to promote all things Vic footy, from pushing the barrow of getting rid of concessions to NSW/QLD, that any football history outside of the VFL doesnt count or matter etc etc....
No loss to anywhere outside Vic footy/vfl circles!

What will kill him is not being a president anymore. He won't be able to attend presidents meetings or criticize other presidents and have any clout to get on the phone and to Gil. He was a key playmaker in the deal between the AFL and the Victorian government to get the deal done to extend the Grand Final deal at the MCG for another 40 years or thereabouts which is just insane.

Yep spot on DD he was, as I pretty much posted above he is no loss to footy circles outside the Vic footy-media/VFL incestuous bubble!
Hopefully he gets the arse as a footy commentator as well as he is ordinary there too!
