We have finally made it to Round 18 and for a few clubs they will be breathing a sigh of relief thanking their deity that the season is finally over. For everyone else they will be having one eye on finals, as they head into this week. We have all had fun this season, MrM (less than 50 days to go for those who know) and while the fun has been fantastic it is time to get into some more serious business at the back end of the year.
We still have 5 weeks of genuinely good football games and we know anyone on any day can win it all and MrM is quite excited to see what unfolds.Off the field though it has been a quiet week, with no much to talk about and that keeps MrM happy, one new feature MrM has seen introduced though, is he is now able to get a report of who views your posts, so thank you for those who are reading, yet never comment, MrM can now see you and call you out publicly.
Let us look into these weekend games.
Bullcreek Leeming v Wanneroo @Beasley Reserve
Bullcreek will want to finish the season strongly here as they look to put behind a difficult 2022 and finish the season off strongly and know it will be a tough task up against a team destined for finals and wanting to put on a good show. Wanneroo had a loss last weekend but will be looking to rebound and fine tune this weekend against a tough Bullcreek side. I think Wanneroo will win here.
Wanneroo by 3 goals
Baldivis v Ocean Ridge @Baldivis Football Oval
This game does promise to be a good and close one, but with the percentage gap between the two sides, Unless Onion Ridge can win by 10+ goals, finals is out of the question. Baldivis have put in some good performances recently after their COVID week and will show again why the a dark a horse come finals time. Onion Ridge, well it may be too little too late for them here, but it has bene a good season for them. I think Baldivis at home too good.
Baldivis by 3 goals
Wembley v Melville @Pat Goodridge Reserve
Where has it all gone wrong for Wembley, someone please provide MrM answers, MrM cannot work it out. But either way, and sure the club will be looking to finish the season off quickly. Melville, well done on winning last weekend, and can hold their heads up high, that is all. MrM isn’t concerned who will win here, why can’t it be Melville? I think 2 weeks in a row, yes.
Melville by 2 goals
Swan Athletic v Whitford @Swan Athletic Sporting Club
MrM is adamant that changing the name from Fawell Park has seen Swan Athletic slide, and this is a hill MrM will die on. What a disappointing year for Swan Ath, there only option this week, is clear the 50 meters and let Mr. Munt go to work to win the goal kicking. As for North Padbury, they are gearing up for finals though and might put the sword to Swan Ath, speaking of swords despite recent trends, even the state cricket team changed their mascot name to avoid offense, but North Padbury persist, but we digress. It may be closer than some think, Munt to kick 8, Whitford to win.
Whitford by 2 goals
Mount Lawley v Collegians @Inglewood Oval
This game really means not a lot to both sides here, they both cannot move from their ladder positions, unless something drastic happens, just a good chance for a hit before finals. Mount Lawley were good last weekend and will more than likely finish the season on top of the ladder, and Collegians despite losing last weekend, have bene quite good as well. Will be a tough hit out and who knows which way this one will fall, Mount Lawley at home though, to get it done.
Mount Lawley by 2 goals
Good luck.
