We have finally made it to Round 18 and for a few clubs they will be breathing a sigh of relief thanking their deity that the season is finally over. For everyone else they will be having one eye on finals, as they head into this week. We have all had fun this season, MrM (less than 50 days to go for those who know) and while the fun has been fantastic it is time to get into some more serious business at the back end of the year.

We still have 5 weeks of genuinely good football games and we know anyone on any day can win it all and MrM is quite excited to see what unfolds.Off the field though it has been a quiet week, with no much to talk about and that keeps MrM happy, one new feature MrM has seen introduced though, is he is now able to get a report of who views your posts, so thank you for those who are reading, yet never comment, MrM can now see you and call you out publicly.

Let us look into these weekend games.

Bullcreek Leeming v Wanneroo @Beasley Reserve

Bullcreek will want to finish the season strongly here as they look to put behind a difficult 2022 and finish the season off strongly and know it will be a tough task up against a team destined for finals and wanting to put on a good show. Wanneroo had a loss last weekend but will be looking to rebound and fine tune this weekend against a tough Bullcreek side. I think Wanneroo will win here.
Wanneroo by 3 goals

Baldivis v Ocean Ridge @Baldivis Football Oval

This game does promise to be a good and close one, but with the percentage gap between the two sides, Unless Onion Ridge can win by 10+ goals, finals is out of the question. Baldivis have put in some good performances recently after their COVID week and will show again why the a dark a horse come finals time. Onion Ridge, well it may be too little too late for them here, but it has bene a good season for them. I think Baldivis at home too good.
Baldivis by 3 goals

Wembley v Melville @Pat Goodridge Reserve

Where has it all gone wrong for Wembley, someone please provide MrM answers, MrM cannot work it out. But either way, and sure the club will be looking to finish the season off quickly. Melville, well done on winning last weekend, and can hold their heads up high, that is all. MrM isn’t concerned who will win here, why can’t it be Melville? I think 2 weeks in a row, yes.
Melville by 2 goals

Swan Athletic v Whitford @Swan Athletic Sporting Club

MrM is adamant that changing the name from Fawell Park has seen Swan Athletic slide, and this is a hill MrM will die on. What a disappointing year for Swan Ath, there only option this week, is clear the 50 meters and let Mr. Munt go to work to win the goal kicking. As for North Padbury, they are gearing up for finals though and might put the sword to Swan Ath, speaking of swords despite recent trends, even the state cricket team changed their mascot name to avoid offense, but North Padbury persist, but we digress. It may be closer than some think, Munt to kick 8, Whitford to win.
Whitford by 2 goals

Mount Lawley v Collegians @Inglewood Oval

This game really means not a lot to both sides here, they both cannot move from their ladder positions, unless something drastic happens, just a good chance for a hit before finals. Mount Lawley were good last weekend and will more than likely finish the season on top of the ladder, and Collegians despite losing last weekend, have bene quite good as well. Will be a tough hit out and who knows which way this one will fall, Mount Lawley at home though, to get it done.
Mount Lawley by 2 goals

Good luck.

Where's the year gone? Round 18 already and just about time to get into the serious stuff.

Wanneroo to bounce back with a win here. A bit of a balancing act to ensure a home final in week 1 and qualifying those guys sitting on 4 games. I think both can be done this week. Roos by 4 goals.

Baldivis with a handsome win last week over Wembley but they face a tougher opponent this week. The question is though, do the OR gents truly think they're a chance to snatch 5th spot and will they be hungry enough to make up the %? All good questions to spend your Friday stewing on but I don't think it'll matter. Baldivis by 3 goals.

Well done to Melville for snatching a win last week. No-one enjoys a winless year and its good for the comp to share the wins around. I hope they savoured it because there will be no repeat this weekend. Wembley to finish a poor year with a win by 2 goals.

Whitties had a bit of a scare last week coming from behind the snatch the win against Bullcreek. They'll be out this week to steal second place and a home final so would ordinarily need to pull up their socks and improve on their performance. However, they come up against a side who has battled all year and don't have much to play for. Ath will go down to C grade but being a historically strong club, I think they will be back up again soon. Whitties by 7 goals.

Mt Lawley held on for a win last week which should secure them top spot and a week off. However, Collegians beat them last time they played so they can't take it too easy this weekend. Lawley may have played their final last week and perhaps dont have much to play for so I'm tipping Collegians to get up by 2 goals.

Another wet one tomorrow, enjoy the final fixture.

BCL v Wanneroo , A good game shaping up here. Wanneroo were good in coming back in the last qtr against Mt Lawley after the game should of not been as close as it was in the end. They wouldn't want to drop this one against a team who wont be in the finals. Interesting to see Wanneroo put Tedesco's name down in C5 Res last week....... and B grade league this week. In what will be wet weather footy it may keep the scores closer than normal.  Wanneroo to win by 3goals.

Baldivis v OR  A really good game shaping here on a junior oval, which will not help OR as there ground is the opposite. Baldivis have had a good year for their first year up and I see this continuing this week and playing finals. Baldivis by 2goals

Wembley v Melville Wembley to rebound and finish with a win by 6goals

SA v Whitfords Maybe closer some would think and also not sure what has happened to SA this year. A proud club and I dont think they would be happy about relegation.

Mt Law v Collegians Last time they met the Hawks definitely had chances but couldn't put them away. Collegians very good, especially at home, but this is away and on a large ground. I don't think the Hawks coach will let any player be over confident or the club think they have done their job. Been a good year for Mt Law so far and all being well should finish on top and get the week off . Mt Law by 3 goals

Good luck to all
