Well Ladies and Gentlemen who could truly believe we are back again for another football season. While the all-conquering leader/tyrant we have running this great state wants people to work from home, MrM has been able to hone his craft and perfect his tipping and realise that MrM could infact type this in a record 6 minutes, if he didn’t have the distractions of his daily train journey. So let’s see how we go.
MrM does hope everyone enjoyed a relatively enjoyable offseason and hopes many are back onboard for this season, interesting to see what others bring for this season. We all know what MrM brings, he brings, class, humour and a little shine each week, Its much like gold plated dinner, top shelf. Where as some people bring drivel, dourness and tasteless posts, much like a paper plated awards night dinner. Be more like MrM and less like a paper plate dinner.
Moving on, from paper plates and the like, we do have plenty of good football ahead of us this year, and with so much uncertainty surrounding each team, am sure we will get a few interesting results coming through if teams are depleted. But what a time to be alive, MrM hasn’t even touched certain topics from the offseason, however, feel free to discuss amongst yourselves if needed. Let us look ahead to this weekend.
Bullcreek Leeming v Collegians @Beasley Reserve
A big start for both clubs here. With Bullcreek wanting to again prove themselves in B Grade with a strong showing and they have a perfect opportunity against a club who did it relatively tough last seasons and managed to find themselves back in B Grade after a few seasons up in A Grade. Collegians would be quite unhappy they dropped down after last season, but you always know this club will be up for a challenge, with a plethora of Colts and many young gents to pick from, they will always pose a threat. Bullcreek were always in the contest last year and I expect them to be pushing for finals again, Collegians the same, so a good upfront contest for both here. I think Bullcreek at home though could get it done.

Swan Athletic v Wanneroo @Swan Athletic Sporting Club
Ok MrM will start, where is Fawell Park? What has happened to Mr Fawell? Was there a Fawelling out?...
Ok on a serious note, Swan Ath are the dark horse here, just avoiding relegation last season, but with years of Colts either winning the flag, or finishing top 3, you know eventually that will lead into league success. Hearing their captain and fullback have jumped shipped doesn’t mean anything to MrM, MrM thinks any team with the BigYuke is capable of winning any game, any time. Wanneroo on the other hand, have a little point to prove, MrM will back they in, the naysayers will not. While they may have a different team, the spirit remains strong and MrM thinks a win over Ath will kick start them once more.

Ocean Ridge v Mount Lawley @Heathridge Park
Its been a tough offseason for Onion Ridge gents, and Mr does feel for them so MrM does know they will play with some passion and pride and want to get over for their mate, so MrM will wish them well, and say nothing else. They do play with a Mt Lawley side though, who are coming with some fresh recruits, rumour has it MrM was told that some recruits decided to jump ship from WAFL as they didn’t comply with some required documents that allow you to currently enter licensed premise… read into that what you will. It should be a good gamer though, I think Onion Ridge know their ground well, but the Mt Lawley Mandators, will be out for vengeance.

Wembley v Whitford @Pat Goodridge Reserve
The Wombles are back in B Grade and MrM expects them to be a force, even though their prized recruit, was snaffled up by The Moss Street Sharks, MrM still expects the boys from Wembley to bless many people over the year. As for the Whitford gents, when do we talk about the rumblings of player exodus? Forfeiting one of their sides last season seems to have worked wonders for player retention and morale but we digress, this is B Grade football where they will definitely put up a strong showing, are they gold or paper plated? Time will tell. I expect Wembley to come out firing this year and can see them winning big here.

Baldivis v Melville @Baldivis Football Oval
The newcomers to B Grade match up against each other here in a big Grand Final rematch. Baldivis took all before them in C grade last season and you know they are going to be one to watch again this season. If they kept everyone from last year involved, you can see them pushing for finals, however Melville may have different ideas. Melville will want to avoid the yo-yo straight up and down in one season, so you know they will want to avenge for last season’s grand final loss, but I feel as though they will fall short ultimately. Side note, these two clubs, combined ground lengths would still not be as far as you have to walk to from Whitford or Onion Ridge changerooms to the playing surface.

Good luck to all for the weekend.
