I feel sorry for the Wanneroo Reserves players that got dropped for the GF that had to sit and watch that performance.
Good to see the B Res GF played in the right spirit unlike the Colts where the Roos decided to revert to normal and go the fist in the closing minutes of the game after realising they couldn’t win it.

West Coast easily in the end. Basso had one forward (#2) but they found it tough having no decent defenders and only two midfielders that had a dip.

Not sure how Wanneroo colts choked after kicking the first 5 goals kicking with the breeze.

Mt Lawley colts team were dominant after quarter time. Wanneroo tried to punch on with 3 minutes left. Couldn't get a hard ball all day but wanted the knuckle. Well done to there coach!
well done whitford on pulling there pants down in the 2s also.

Looking forward to Mr Ms write up, his favourite topic has been the North Padbury reserves side this year.

Behaviour of the Wanneroo Colts and their supporters during the day was certainly the talk of the arena yesterday.

Surprising to see Mr M looked like he wanted to join in late in the game.

As expected, the Colts game was a ripper with both teams being square at 3qt. Roos got away in a big way early with a breeze but Lawley responded well in the second. Roos kept to only two goals after quarter time was the difference. Credit to Lawley who kept going when it was on the knife edge. Big support from that club too in attendance.

the reserves went as most expected I would assume. Whitfords playing an Australia A model of football with both husseys, hodge and macgill in their “reserves team”. Well done to them. Interestingly the shopping centre was the only reserves team across all grades to play in a gf where their league team didn’t make prelims or even finals. Load em up! Whitfords with the keys to the shops on Monday and parade through the arcade.

league was a big surprise to me but well done to west coast. They shared the goal kickers which could have been the difference with one or two goal kickers missing out after injuries last week. Basso surely sore after that loss. They came home strong in the H&A but couldn’t get it done in the last quarter where WC just kicked away. Basso with 42 player points and WC with 35 so WC will need to ramp that up to 43 next year you’d think to be competitive in top grade. Ba$$o will need to keep their quality players and they will be decent next year.

all results suggesting that playing the week before the GF was an advantage with the bye potentially costing a few team.

Wanneroo should be proud of their season with big finals exposure for a young team. I’m sure they will be up there again next season across the grades.

Have a look at the side that played yesterday.

The core of the side is over 30. FF is 36, CHF is 34, Ruck is 30 (BOG) CHB is 38 and FB is 34. They have all done their time in the 1s.

Too old, too slow, too good.
Credit to the older players to stick around in the 2s and help the next generation through

Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story Shiz. Enjoy Silly Sunday. Old fellas are normally best on drinking winners piss so should be a good day.

North Padbury, Shopping Centre, Train Station - keep em coming lads. Wanneroo named after Tap Out t-shirts, Jack Daniels before 9.00am, speed dealer sunglasses and kids with mullets that can’t form basic sentences unless swearing is involved.
