Football is back again this weekend and MrM cannot wait. It doesn’t take much for MrM to get excited, but it was good to see some discussions about clubs health and umpiring but let’s keep up the search for FullBack,  one day soon we will be graced with their presence I am sure, pending court appearance for the libellous claims he levelled at MrM.   Word has spread through to MrM that the P.F.L Podcast have been sorting through the OZfooty forums as well and it’s good to hear this news. One day MrM may actually listen, but time will tell.  Let us see what this weekend offers.

Bassendean v Whitford @Jubilee Reserve

This game means a lot for both teams and in differing contexts. Bassendean will want a win to arrest the losing streak they are currently on, meanwhile Whitford still sit very close to the relegation zone, something no one saw happening I’m sure. Given it’s at home, I think Bassendean will be too good here.
Bassendean by 4 goals

Mt Lawley v Bullcreek Leeming @Hamer Park

Another game, another big game for both clubs. Mt Lawley are another club that needs a win to avoid the relegation zone but they are facing Bullcreek who will want to make sure they stay in touch with the top of the ladder. A big battle of the red and black sides here. Away from home though Bullcreek should still get it done.
Bullcreek Leeming by 3 goals

Wanneroo v West Coast @Wanneroo Showgrounds

A game between two of the form sides of the competition here. Wanneroo have done what they needed two in the past two weeks, but coming up against the building West Coast will be a different challenge. West Coast have those big ins returning from injury…(this will never get old) and will look to bounce back in the second half of the season. With Wanneroo hosting past players as well and MrM nestling in for a couple of mulled wines, can expect a big day. Wanneroo should get it done at home.
Wanneroo by 2 goals

Ballajura v Swan Athletic @Kingfisher Oval

Well Ballajura need a win as they hope to avoid the drop in 2021 and they have managed to string together some decent football in recent weeks, but up against Swan Ath who have been hot and cold this season. Will we get the Swan Ath who defeated Bassendean or the Swan Ath who scored under 20 points last weekend. Ballajura isn’t an easy place to play and MrM is backing the Royals at home.
Ballajura by 1 goal

Kingsley v Ocean Ridge @Kingsley Park

A bit of a local derby under lights. Kingsley may be disappointed in their efforts so far this season, but there is still time for them to make a difference. Onion Ridge though are flying and the gents do seem up and about. It will not be easy away from home, but they can get it done for the onions.
Ocean Ridge by 3 goals

Go well men, keep up the chatter.

Some good games ahead of us today again. Going for a look at Mt Lawley today so hoping for a good day.

Bassendean v Whitfords - Basso would be looking to rebound here against a side that needed a win last week and got it with the very last kick of the day. Think Bassendean with their talent list will rebound here and win by around 5goals. Interested to see if Whitfords retain a few they bought in for last weeks game.

Mt Lawley V Bullcreek - This should be a good game as the Hawks have not been thrashed, so could be tighter than some think. Sounds like the Hawks again cant get all the better players at the same time due to injury and apparently a gun left the club to go play country. Stop the ex AFL boys and anything could happen. BC by 4 points , but not surprised if Mt Law get up.

Wanneroo V WC - Take your ear muffs this week as the WC coach apparently goes off at large decibles each week, old school stuff. Should be a good game but Wanneroo to get the points. 3goals

Ballajura V SA - Dont know a great deal about these two and what they have or dont. So go with Ballajura at home - 2goals

Kingsley V OR - Again depends if the OR Coach has done the ring around getting WAFL players that havent got a game. They are travelling along nicely so dont see this changing. OR by 6goals

Good luck everyone in what are good matches as well as the wafl and afl this weekend.

Well I went and had a look at the Bullcreek and Mt Lawley game in some glorious sunshine. Creek have been good so far this season with some obvious ex AFL talent in their squad. Mt Lawley have been in most games but not quite doing enough to get over the line in a handful of games.

the game itself was great to watch. Bullcreek have some very smart and damaging forwards and with some pretty sharp skills going forward it’s no wonder they’re kicking bags each week. Creek kicked 4 in a row at one point and were up by 20 points at half time at which point I assumed they would run away with it.

The third was a complete reversal and Lawley put some great pressure on around the ground to keep Creek scoreless. Lawley seem to have a younger squad this year and their ball movement can be exciting. They also don’t seem to rely on any one or two players as they have in the past which is good for them.

the last qtr was goal for goal and really great viewing. Mt Lawley ultimately did enough and they would be very relieved with that win and a big scalp too. Hard to know what went wrong for the creek, perhaps mentally they had it in the bag at half time. Rebounding at home next week against Swan Ath will be important for their momentum but I think they’ll do it. Lawley have bassendean at home and I wouldn’t rule them out.

Reply:

Good write up Blunder and accurate. It was a great game to watch and intense. The coach of the Hawks does have the team playing for one and I can see a big difference in the way they play. Ball movement is very good at times, but not over the whole game. This is probably due to them being fairly young and getting used to a new style. Great to see them get a win as they deserved it this week.

Bassendean next week will be tough against the salary cap their players MAY have....... Interesting to note as well that Whitfords had a loss and a couple of players they bought in last week for 1 game didnt play. If they were bought in for 1game I am not too sure how the rest of the group would sit with that and why you would do it. WC looks like they are now on the way up as well.

Not sure what your obsession is with a so called Bassendean afc  salary  , but if you’re that obsessed with it give me a message I’ll let you know who I am and we can have a beer and chat on Saturday if McGowan allows the game to go ahead.
If not, can you just give it a rest?
Because you’re way off the mark.

Absolutely way off the mark - unless he’s talking coaches salaries…
Let’s all sit around and talk about B Grade football.
If you’re shouting beers BAZZ, MrM deserves one I feel… Thank you.
