Well back again for another week and it looks like MrM is kicking things off; it is good to be back as they say. Five great games this week, and who knows what will happen, because football is a funny game as they say.We have an array of talent on show and with no WAFL football on this weekend, why not get down and support local football. In to this weekend’s tips.

Mt Lawley v Ballajura @Hamer Park

MrM was not in attendance last weekend, but from all reports, Mt Lawley did not look like a tema that was super competitive and will need to work hard for the remainder of the season to stay alive in B Grade. While Ballajura, they shocked MrM last week and can they keep up the form, perhaps, but we know, Mt Lawley will be desperate for a win. I think the home side here will win the battle of the royal’s discards.
Mt Lawley by 2 goals

Bassendean v Wanneroo @Jubilee Reserve

We know the basso boys are hungry and want to play well in 2021 as they chase the A Grade dream with some big recruits you know it is going to be a good chance for them to feature at the season’s end. Wanneroo well they are travelling ok, but a quick look and they have beaten the four bottom sides of the ladder. I think should be a hot fierce contest and can see Wanneroo riding home here by a few goals.
Wanneroo by 2 goals

Kingsley v Bullcreek Leeming @Kingsley Park

Kingsley were apparently very competitive last weekend and know if they bring that again they are a good chance to defeat Bullcreek Leeming who are one of the teams looking hot early this season. Bullcreek, have experience on their side on their side will want another win here as they chase the top two on the ladder. I think the Bullcreek boys are the real deal here ad will win.
Bullcreek Leeming by 3 goals

Ocean Ridge v West Coast @Heathridge Park

Onion ridge boys are looking good and MrM will have to eat his words if they are too win here but they do face an opponent who know how to play the big ground well. West Coast, we know they are a good team and we know they will be there at the end of the season, but they will not want to drop too many games against sides if they are to cause trouble once more. I think the West Coast boys despite all the drama during the week, but that is for the board to decide later; will be able to rebound here.
West Coast by 3 goals

Whitford v Swan Athletic @Macdonald Reserve

Wow do both these sides need a win, who would have predicted that they would both be in this position at this stage in the season. Whitford had a shock loss last week, as did Swan Ath. We both know these clubs will rebound, but the question is when, as a loss this weekend may see either side fall into an early danger zone, where meetings will be held on cod Tuesday nights trying to figure out where it is going wrong. I think Swan Ath maybe just, but who knows.
Swan Ath by 2 goals

Good luck to all this weekend.

G'day Lads,

Kingsley v Bullcreek

In an unusual set of circumstances this will be Creek's first away game.

Creek's elite midfield and spine will ensure consolidation of their ladder position.

Creek to win by 39 Points.

Whitfords v Swan Athletic

Put simply the loser of this game will not play finals and will be seriously facing relegation. I had to read that 3 times just to make sure that was correct as they are 2 powerful clubs.

Hard to seperate the 2 Teams on form, however, the Warriors will no doubt be red hot to atone for last week's very poor loss.

Warriors to win by 9 Points.

Mount Lawley v Ballajura

No doubt the Hawks League players will be hurting by their poor performance last week at the Circus.

The players would have struggled all week looking their Coach in the eyes as not only is he a great Coach but a ripper bloke who is honest as the day is long.

If the Hawks lose this week they will be odds on to be relegated to C Grade.

Too much pride at the Hawks not to make a statement this week.

Hunger and a fierce attack on the ball all game will ensure a Hawks victory.

Hawks to win by 21 Points.

Ocean Ridge v West Coast

It's Ladies Day at the Ridge and most importantly it's to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation.

Well done Ridge and the Footy Community wishes you success in such a great cause.

Ridge onfield keep on rolling and winning games whilst West Coast have dropped in standards and depth when compared to their lofty standards over the last few years.

Watching West Coast closely they very much miss the class and goal kicking abilities of A Devitt. A true jet and match winner.

West Coast looked slower in the guts and their backline really shaky under pressure against Swan Athletic a couple of weeks ago.

Ridge on their huge home fortress will have an edge in gut running and skill.

Ridge to make a statement of intent and consolidate their ladder position.

Ridge to win by 25 Points.

Bassendean v Wanneroo

Basso keep on rolling and play a Team First, gut running, skillful brand of footy.

Last year Basso rolled the Far Northern Joeys 2 times (home and away)  and this year Basso have an even stronger list that runs deep.

Basso if aiming for Top Spot at the end of the year needs to win this game due to Round 3 not being played which has totally favoured the Joeys ( I wonder how the Joeys voted in that Round 3 to be played later in the year)? Hmmm

Basso are a Club on the rise who totally deserve their success as its based on hard work especially since 2014 which has resulted in 3 League Premierships.

Basso to win by 31 Points.

Over and out

Here we go again. Another great day for footy.

Bullcreek to have a win over Kingsley by around 18points. Bullcreek and their ex AFL stars are a strong unit and will be there abouts at the end of the year.

Whitfords V Swan Ath- Whitfords to bounce back here. Someone mentioned some unrest in the camp and players not entirely happy for some reason. This could spell a little danger for a young SA. Whitfords by 4 goals

Mt Lawley V Ballajura - Ballajura in a good win last week will have them up and about and Lawley beaten by a side who is looking strong to be in the top 2. Mt Lawley lose this and it is relegation for them probably. The couple of games I have seen of them they have some good players but it falls away quickly after the first dozen or so. At times they move the ball very well and it looks completely different from last years plan.  Need more depth to be in B grade. So a big game for them. Mt Lawley by 12 points.

OR v WC - West coast to bounce back here they are too big a club to continue to slide. Have they lost any other players a part from Devitt? WC by 24points

Bassendean v Wanneroo - GOTR. What a good game this looks like being with the top 2 hitting it out. Bass with their stronger list at home will get up here. Wanneroo who go down without a fight though but Bassendean by 3goals in what should be a beauty.

Stay safe peeps!

Big round for a number of clubs this weekend.
For the current top two a chance to go one game clear.
For a couple of the lower sides a chance to get out of relegation zone and keep the finals dream alive.

The WAFL by might throw a few surprises with results and margins?
how many sides are getting back WAFL listed players?

MtLawley v Balla- both clubs have a history of EP players. With Lawleys coach having a more recent relationship with them you would think they will have a few EP Ressies playing today.
hawks by 3goals

Kingsley v Bullcreek
Kingsley really need to win this to keep the finals hope alive.
Creek lose and they become 2 games off top spot.
too much to play for for creek- they should win by 4goals.

Basso v Wanneroo
MOTR- two good sides get a crack at it today.
Any WAFL players back for the roos or basso?
looking at points basso probably wouldn’t be able to fit them in where as Roos has some wriggle room.
nonetheless if you want to take top spot outright must win today.
Basso at home by 2 goals.

OR v WC
So good to see ridge flying! They have some really good young talent who I think will dig the heels in when the going gets tough today where WC may not necessarily have that hunger.
Home ground advantage and they win by 10pts

Whitties vs Ath
Ath got the choccies here last year and I expect them to take them again.
Whitties play with limited structure this year.
will any of these sides get WAFL boys back?
Ath by 24pts

Looks like some good games played on the weekend. I was one of quite a few that turned up to watch Mt Lawley and Ballajura. A good crowd there for the game. I must say the Hawks boys played really well and looked like they had sharpened up a bit since last I saw them. Big Wityck up the front played one of his better games and the midfield looked hungry. The way they moved the ball was also better than last time i watched them. Ballajura served it to them in the first but the Hawks out worked them from then on. Some close games by the looks and does anyone else have comments on games

G'day Lads,

Good to see the Hawks get their first win of the season and that Ridge made their Big Statement of Intent against West Coast.

Creek and the Warriors won their games as expected.

I watched the Basso v Wanneroo game.

Basso do have great facilities and playing grounds contrary to what people(s) have reported here.

More importantly ripper game of footy played in good spirit.

The League Teams for both Clubs have improved from last year.

Wanneroo have added WAFL (reserves/colts) players to their League (rushed in 2 for their debut after only being cleared this week) and they play a quick spread/play on type game based on skill and speed.

Number 4 (midfielder) and Ruckman for Wanneroo are their key players. Number 4 needs to be closely tagged as he was their go to player setting up plays all over the ground.

Basso continue to play a Team First, gut running and skillful game.

I believe the key difference between the 2 Teams was that Basso had more grunt gut running midfielders who run both ways.

This will hold Basso in good stead and they have a clear advantage over other Teams when the heavy rains come in.

Wanneroo kicked the First 2 and Last 2 goals (with 3 minutes left) and had a kick after the siren (25 metres out directly in front) to win the game but obviously missed.

Basso were kept behind on the scoreboard until the early stages of the 4th quarter, however, they never lost focus on playing their brand of footy.

Basso imo need to use and protect Delby better as he's only a mid sized forward but a proven goal kicker/match winner.

Too often the ball was kicked to Delby high or in a pack where it was 2/3 on 1 and he needed to bust the pack.

If Basso have or secure a Big 6 4 Forward who can take the pack mark and or bust packs then this would allow Delby to play one on one where the ball is crucially kicked in front of him as that's where he does the most damage.

Basso would then be very hard to beat come finals.

Peter Pan were you at the game? If so, what are your thoughts on the game.

Over and out.
