Finally we got a few insights into what the grade may look like- I think we re look at this come Round 5.

Round 1 is here and my thoughts are below.

Bullcreek v Ballajura
The creek have lost a couple of their major ball winners to Brentwood. But have picked up some very handy additions. I feel they will not be as tall as previous years but will move the ball a little quicker.
Balla- same coach again and he has been around for donkeys years. They will be youngish and speedy and will try to exploit the new standing the mark rule I feel.
Tip- Creek at home by 3 goals and Hardingham to kick 8

Mt Lawley vs Whitfords
not much happening with either clubs by the looks of things but Whitfords have had a strong colts program for a number of years and you would expect some of those kids now taking the step up to league footy.
lawley new coach and that often takes a few games to get the chemistry right.
Tip- Whitfords by 2 goals

Bassendean vs Oridge
Was Basso’s results last year a reflection of a Covid season or are they capable of playing consistent B grade footy and higher?? New coach, some good recruits- very few losses from last years preliminary side.
Ridge- young, quick and coming off a C1 flag. They have nothing to lose here and would want a very strong start to build some confidence. I believe also a new coach?
Tip- Basso at home by 5 goals.

Kingsley v West Coast
Kingsley back down from A grade and should be there abouts after feeling the quality of A grade last year.
a couple of ins and outs- notably the loss of Del Borello- can they kick a winning score?
West Coast- missing out on a flag last year when they threw the toys out of the cot when promotion was not going to be on but couldn’t get the job done any way 😆😆
Again not much to report but did see Alex Devitt with a clearance to  a comp up north which could mean he is Fifo?
Tip- West Coast by 2 goals

Wanneroo vs Swan Athletic
two youngish sides one would suspect. Ath having 4 colts debut this weekend and will look for early confidence in the game- they played a good brand of footy last year but just couldn’t play it consistently throughout games.
Return of a couple of goal kickers for the club (Munt and Polich) could that be the difference for them?
Wanneroo no real big recruits announced but they have Healy at the helm after last years coach left. He is a quality coach who reads the game well and will hve his boys firing.
Tip- Wanneroo at home 10pts

Enjoy the conditions boys- hot and 30 degrees, fresh legs will be the key in the last half of games!
looking forward to banking my first tipping donut for the year 😆😆

We are back again in season 2021 and MrM could not be happier What an off season MrM had, no there is no MrsM on the scene, but my cricket season was plentiful and even resulted in the upmost success.
But enough of MrM offseason how is everyone else looking? It has been a while and MrM even had to barter with the IT department to unblock OZfooty on his web browser, so thank you IT man.
Cannot wait for a full return to football and we all know what has happened in the offseason, and even last season, so let us hope we go through uninterrupted.
It has definitely been a big season for one B Grade member in particular, everyone would have seen The Big Yuke in the paper, we all know his talents and what he bought to the game and now so does the rest of Western Australia, what a man.

No need for end of season predictions here, because they mean nothing but MrM will say one thing.
FreoForTheFlag – change your username it is year 2021 and MrM should not have to see such an offensive and ridiculous handle. It is time to wake up and realise, but we will touch on this later.
Unholytugboat, obviously stuck helping out the Sewers canal as your tips leave a lot to be desired.

Bullcreek Leeming v Ballajura @Beasley Park
Some good indications for Bullcreek in the offseason, but barely scraping a colts together does not bode well for future will wait and see how that plays out. Ballajura, well they played some very good cricket, that’s about all I can say. Bullcreek to win here by a few, Paul Bower to kick 5
Bullcreek Leeming by 3 goals

Mt Lawley v Whitford @Hamer Park

Mat Lawley will need to improve after last season and they look like they have on paper, but the game is played on the field. Whitford, another team struggling with Colts. IS this true? Someone help me please. League team should be there or there about. I think they will win here
Whitfords by 3 goals

Bassendean v Ocean Ridge @Jubilee Reserve

Bassendean look like they have recruited well in the offseason and so much, so they are struggling to fit all the players in the point system. I think with Ocean Ridge coming up the grades as well they may get a football lesson here form a bigger, stronger and smarter team, and another club struggling with Colts? Yes? No? who knows.
Bassendean by 6 goals

Kingsley v West Coast @Kingsley Park

After coming down from A grade, Kingsley should be one of the teams to beat, however MrM is hearing some suspensions loom form the club after a few indiscretions at Golf Day. Who would like to confirm, this one? Thanks, you MrM does not miss. Meanwhile West Coast have lost Luke Shuey for several weeks... (poor joke sorry) But I still think they are a good chance to win it all again this season. I think they too will comfortably win here.
 West Coast by 5 goals

Wanneroo v Swan Athletic @Wanneroo Showgrounds

MrM cannot wait to see his beloved Roo’s back in action and this will be a very good test against a Swan Ath side that is going to be bigger, and stringer than last season. Wanneroo were surprises last season and they may just be again this season. Time will tell, as for Swan Ath, with the Big Yuke in action, they are to be a force, can he single handled sell the dummy to multiple players again? MrM hopes not. Wanneroo too good at home though.
Wanneroo by 3 goals

Good luck all, cannot wait. Cyclone is coming so batten down the hatches and pray for the best

Plenty of Colts at Whitfords Mr M, not enough for 2 teams,  but certainly going in with 25 this week with a few missing out playing in senior grades.

Some really good posts there people. No idea really as round 1 can throw anything up. My guesses below.

Bullcreek by 7goals and Ballajura to struggle a little. Same style for so long now probably which others should of worked out
Mt Law and Whitfords to draw. Mt Law had a couple of pre season wins albeit against C1 sides. But Whitfords always more than hold their own.
Bassendean to beat OR convincingly and by their comments on FB they seem more than confident. So anything less than a promotion at the end of the year could be a fail. Big statement for rd 1. But they appear cock o Hoot. Them to win by 10goals
West Coast to do a number on kingsley to. Have Kinglsey lost/gained payers does anyone know? WC- 7 goals
Wanneroo to beat a young Swan Ath side by 5goals. Not sure of any recruiting form these sides either.

Enjoy the last of the sunshine people.

I think we can all agree as Mr M kindly pointed out, it's time for a change Freofortheflag, this is not the fantasy football thread.

G'day Lads,

B Grade 2021 promises to be exciting with talented Teams allround.

Two new Teams in Kingsley (A Grade Spooners) and Ocean Ridge (C 1 Premiers). Lets hope that we have a Full Season and good luck to everyone.

Kingsley v West Coast

Kingsley will be much the wiser after being exposed to A Grade whilst West Coast are proven at B Grade.

Kingsley will be hurting big time by the loss of Del Borrello.

West Coast too much class accross all lines and to win by 31 Points.

Bullcreek v Ballajura

Bullcreek last year were much better than their final ladder position. Very strong spine with an excellent midfield.

If Creek have retained the Helmeted Assasin in the Forward Line who can turn a game in 5 minutes they will be a Team to watch closely as they are quality.

Ballajura have been a mosquitoe fleet for quite some time but that doesn't cut it at B Grade.

Special mention goes out to Ballajura's Fullback who the whole of last year played with a very damaged leg against Giants. Well done young man as you Never gave up and Always put your body on the line. Inspirational stuff and for your sake we can only hope that Ballajura have recruited 5-6 talls.

That said Creek to win by 8 goals.

Mount Lawley v Whitfords

The Hawks have recruited East Perth players and Coach ( EP Reserves).

I must admit I'm an East Perth supporter so I will try not to be biased here.

The Hawks new League Coach is a Ripper and he will change their playing style with no less than a Team First approach.

The Hawks will now Cleary understand Discipline and the technique of a perfect pushup.

The Warriors I suspect will be heading into a perfectly set ambush.

If the Warriors are 10% off their best they will get punished.

Hawks by 3 Goals.

Bassendean v Ocean Ridge

Basso played great footy last year and have recruited well. Their only weakness last year was not having a traditional full forward who could finish all the hard work and dominance upfield.

Will recruit Del Borrello Coach Reserves and play League?

If so, watch out they will be hard to beat.

Ridge are a Club on the rise and it's great to see them in B Grade where they belong.

Great Club with depth who will cause upsets throughout the year especially at their big home ground.

Del Borrello playing League Basso by 7 Goals. Without Del Borrello it's game on and Basso by 1 Goal.

Wanneroo v Swan Athletic

If Wanneroo have recruited experienced players accross all lines then they will be a Team on the rise.

Last year it was reported that Wanneroo's League was largely based upon the Colts programme and they still managed to play finals.

Swan Athletic were competitive all year and were unlucky in losing many close games.

That said noting it's a Wanneroo home game the Roos by 17 points.

Over and Out

This wind today will make things more even if it keeps blowing a gale into the afternoon. Such an even year ahead and look forward to getting some insights tonite/tmoz.

Bullcreek v Ballajura
Balla to give them a run but the Creek to be to strong and experienced. Creek 4 goals.

MT Lawley v Whitfords
New coach for the hawks will see a jump in enthusiasm but whitfords still have some quality players running around. Whitfords 5 goals

Bassendean v Ocean Ridge
The wind out at Jubilee should prove a major menace. I’m going to go for the upset here with Ridge using their youth and pace to run out the game. Ridge 2 goals.

West Coast v Kingsley
Kingsley with a point to prove after a couple years up top and west coast wanting to prove themselves. Should be a cracker. West Coast 2 points

Wanneroo v Swan Ath
Returning very capable coach for the roos will see them over the top of a young Ath. Wanneroo 3 goals.

Disappointing that Whitfords are recruiting Junior aged players to play colts if they’ve got too many players for 1 team.
