How bloody ordinary was that very scratchy 38 by Wade GTR?
Was hard to watch as he didnt even look like hitting one in the middle of the bat.
If he is in the best 5 bats in the country currently then we are in a world of trouble if and when the likes of Smith, Warner & Labuschagne have a run of outs.

The best "shot" he played BH was the ball bowled at his hips that he headbutted with his helmet for a legside four byes! This bloke has the repertoire of a cardboard cutout at the moment

That looks like a pitch the batsmen didn't trust one iota - it could be a minefield
400 will be a difficult thing to chase on that

God knows mate i said it before the Ashes and yes he did score 2 hundreds but barely a run outside those 2 innings.
That knock yesterday was as ugly a knock as I can remember.

Beauty of a delivery to Smith to get him out....great finger tipper catch as well.....this pitch must be a road if Paine can bat like that....LOL...best cameo I have ever seen him play....pity the lunch break came when it did....no doubt the skipper will go first ball after lunch....great chance for Head as well....but hey no doubt I have put the Lou Richards on both fellas now....

Post the Smith dismissal, was thinking NZ could do some damage here...Paine came out and has really put that little Kiwi fightback back in its box...375 looks a challenge for the Kiwis....450 definitely stretching the Kiwis....be interesting to see what the Aussie attack does on this pitch with an extra yard or 10 of pace..

BH: I am with you on Wade, I think there have been as ugly innings, but such innings are usually played by veterans playiing from memory a bit. Gatting, Boon, and Ponting to some extent, all come to mind in this respect. What is Wade's excuse? He suppose to be in his batting prime at his age.

Kane Williamson has probably played the worst shot in his career & also probably cost his country the series - horrible brain fade shot that one

Until today it had been 40 years since a South Australian born Test Cricketer. Has scored a 100 in a test on the Mcg.
David Hookes did in 1979 v England Boxing day test.Point of interest it was not an Ashes series. Only 3 tests where played . England would not play for the Ashes unless it was 5 tests.West Indies where the big draw card back then.Who also played 3 tests down under that year.1979-80.
Stand corrected.. The South Aussie born batsman was Greg Chappell
