Great knocks by the skipper and keeper.....be disappointing if the WI can't win from here.....seems like this minefield of a batting pitch, has been well n truly defused over night.

I wouldnt rule England out to chase those runs down with 2 days remaining gtr, as the pitch has well and truly flattened out.
incredible to think that 18 wickets were lost on day 2 (8 for WI & 10 for ENG, 8 wickets lost on day 1) and then on day 3 not one wicket lost for around 350 runs and Jason Holder coming in at 8 scores 202* which is only the 3rd double century ever scored in a Test from a batsman coming in at 8 (Wasim Akram- 257* & Imtiaz Alam- 209 both from PAK) with good support from the keeper Shane Dowrich who finished on 116* in an unbroken 295 run partnership.

BH don't think the Windies have a spinner of note.It will be hard work bowling Englan out.We will see if any more records are broken in this test.

Great win by the WI over Eng....who knows may be the kick start the WI need to get kids interested in cricket again....Great efforts by Roach, Holder, Dowrich and Chase....all match winning efforts on their own.....like every other team under the pump,Eng have their frailties too.....

Pretty comprehensive win by the Windies, interesting to see how England goes in the next test. The bats certainly have some reflecting to do, most made starts in the second dig, in fact they all got to double figures and 5 of the first 6 past 20.
Anderson and Stokes are going to have to shoulder a fair workload again if the likes of Curran can't step up, Anderson not so used to having a new ball partner with match figures of 1/123 and going at around 4 and a half an over. Certainly puts more pressure on an aging body to bowl more overs than he may like, with any luck he may be a little spent by the time the Ashes comes around as this could be a high workload tour for him (although I think it is only a 3 test series).

Great effort from Roston Chase to take 8/60 to roll the Poms.
When you mentioned whether WI had a spinner to bowl them out GTR I certainly didnt want to throw Chase up as always thought of him as more of a batting all rounder who bowls handy off spin but he certainly proved me wrong.
Hopefully one day the WI can get somewhere near the level their contemporaries did in the 70s & 80s when they ruled the cricket world as I have always liked the calypso flair they play the game with just need a bit of Test success to display it more often!

Again demonstrates the difficulty of winning tests away from home. Only elite teams like India or South Africa consistently perform in any conditions. England lost this test at the selection table with their baffling decision to leave out Broad. Sam Curren is not an opening bowler and he was found out in this game. Root obviously has no confidence in Adil Rashid so England were effectively a bowler short. I was very pleased for Jason Holder because he has been through a lot of tough times as captain and now finally can see some light at the end of the tunnel. If was Australia I wouldnt be taking too much solace from England's performance here. They will be a totally different beast on their dung heap.
