India put Nz back in there box yesterday in the first of 5 Odi matches. The Indians are very serious about this tour. They believe Nz conditions are the closest to English conditions. As a World Cup warm up.For the 50 over World Cup.
England have a big tour of the WestIndies 3 tests,5 Odi's,3 T20 matches.
Day1 test 1 in Barbados.WI 8\264 at stumps.A few Windie batsman got starts. But Anderson 4\33 +3 wickets from Stoke's put England on top.

Mate....no way current weather is Eng replica....it's late 20s pushing 30 of late...very dry....no green tops here at present....not sure if the Indians are gonna get their wish bar some convincing wins going on that last match.....perhaps if they came over to NZ in Nov/Dec than yes....but not right now....

Bloody Jimmy Anderson is a rising 37yo and yet is still bowling as well as he ever has with decent pace and his customary swing and seam....he will cause our batsmen all sorts of trouble this Winter in the Ashes!

Amazing scoreline. Pitch must be a minefield. Funny the commentators were saying that the West Indies first innings of 289 was slightly below par. I don't think so.

Gee the Poms have had some interesting times in the West Indies over the years.
Can remember them being knocked over for some very small totals (less than 100) a few times now, not to mention some huge innings by Brian Lara against them and also a quick fire ton (56 balls) by the incomparable Viv Richards as well.

Yeah in 1994 under Atherton, they were bowled out for 46 chasing 194. Wrecked by a rampaging Curtly Ambrose which is no disgrace, he has done it to Australia a number of times as well.

Lara scored 375 on the same tour and followed it up with 400 on the same ground 10 years later.

I don't think England have won in the West Indies very often even over the last 20 years when WI have been failrly weak.

This is where the Windies will miss Chiv Chandapaul.Who could bat for 8 hours.Only score around 70 or 80 runs .But never surrendered his wicket.

Kraigg Braithwaite can bat time but he is not in the same class as Chanderpaul gtr.
