Would of thought Hobart being the size it is, would be more to Maxwell power hitting mikeh?...Agar bowling 10 overs at Hobart could be risky....Short in for Head.....don't think Zampa is the answer to Aust world cup spinning hopes, but who else is there?....Counter Nile back for Zampa perhaps and squeeze a few overs out of Maxwell or Short if one of the steamers is getting whacked...

Turn on the TV for the last 10 overs and watch some pretty fantastic clean hitting and some pretty dumb bowling.....betcha JL is wishing Short was in I reckon....gonna need a Lynn special here....or even a Big Show extravaganza......the pitch looks pretty good and the ground is small....perfect time for the batsmen to step up for a change.

Great knock by Marsh, wish Stoinis could of gone a bit deeper, great cameos by Carey and Maxwell....Head looks out of his depth technique wise sadly, Finch and Lynn are what they are, perhaps not together....but on another day they could get the team off to a flyer.....Cummins appeared to have no idea at the end.....coughed up a few too many at the death.....are the Big three fast boys the answer in the ODI team?.....is Zampa good enough too?.....still a few areas for JL to tinker with before the WC......probably a few too many me thinks.

Freezin - i thought you were a fan of Head ?
you wanted him in the side without seeing him play from NZ and now seem surprised despite being told at the time his technique is no good ?

It seems that the team can't put together all 3 disciplines for 100 overs on the same day.
The first 30 overs was fine bowling wise then the last 15 overs went for an astonishing 174!. Shane Warne commented that he did not see one attempt at a yorker in the last 10 overs.

320 was always going to be out of reach but Marsh and Stonis played well after another poor start. The SA bowlers showed their counterparts how to bowl at the death and frustrated Maxwell. If Australa could have kept the Proteas down to 275 which it looked like doing right up to the last 5 overs, it would have been a totally different chase. The problem with looking at other player options in the 50 over competition is that there is no domestic competition running throughout the season to do this. This competition is now reduced to a pre season warm up and that is why we have a side with 20/20 specialists.

MO still a fan of Heads, but more than happy to admit you and BH were on the money re Heads technical deficiencies, but show me a batsmen who hasnt got a few...and not the first time nor the last the likes of Steyn and Rabada have highlighted a batsman dodgy technique....temperament was what always swayed me for backing Heads call for Aussie selection I guess....yes living in NZ doesn't privy me to seeing much Aussie cricket like your good self....but if watching a game on TV, is considered watching someone play, than like yourself I reckon I have seen Head bat a few times...for Aust and in the BBL.....didn't realized you travelled the country watching Head and folk play cricket mate....lucky you......what do you think of up n comers like Sangha, Edwards, Pucovski then?

International T20 just doesnt do anything for me GTR it should be just left to the Domestic Leagues- Big Bash, IPL, CPL etc.
Having said that the International 50 over stuff other than the World Cup is pretty uneventful these days as well.

Dumb clueless cricket all round. Firstly the bowlers who served up a smorgasbord of half trackers and full tosses which the South African batsmen helped on their way to the boundary. Then the usual array of bash or block shots which the Australian batsmen seem to premeditate with no consideration seemingly given to the type of ball coming at them.
I'm starting to think that Du Plessis has a point about Lynn ( he basically said that they had worked his game out). Is he overhyped, overrated and not up to international level despite some on here pumping up his tyres all the time?
