We have had a poor start, as others have pointed out with aplomb.

As others have pointed out AR, one swallow does not make a summer but certainly not a promising start.

Obviously Aust shot selection was piss poor, but SA took their chances in the field, great catch and run out, Fatty not reviewing didn't help, not sure bowling NCN before Starc was a wise move, though Starc could of easily leaked as many as NCN did....does Finch come down the order, hasn't scored a run since taking the T20 and ODI top job and opening....how about opening with Carey and Short, Lynn at 3, Marsh 4 Finch 5 Maxwell 6 Stoinis 7 Cummins 8 Starc 9 Zampa 10 Hazelwood 11....

Head needs to be in the XI somewhere surely Freezin as he has the ability to score big hundreds and he is a useful bowler, perhaps number 5 is his spot. Also great to see Mitch Marsh get to his ton in the Shield match this morning.

I guess Head could replace either Maxwell or Stoinis mikeh, would like to see McDermott given a run, played 3 T20s and got run out each time.....think Australia has the right nucleus of a competitive side, would love to see Behrendorf get a game too....in England he would be mighty useful with his swing and good lines......think the selectors have to pick and stick with their preferred 14-15 players and let them get on with it.....rather be peaking in England next year at the WC than now v SA....but at the same time would like a win or three before then.....LOL.

Everyone knows Mitch Marsh's potential and power, just wish he delivered it more like what Stokes does for England.....

Just as a sidelight, Mitch Marsh now 141 no at tea with Will Bosito on 78 no . Still 127 behind Qld's first innings with current partnership of 165.

Good 100s from both boys, Bosisto looks more suited to that number 6 spot.....any reason why Green not playing?

I can honestly say that the present Australian batting line-up is the weakest I have seen in this country includding touring sides.

Two weakish sides which immediately come to mind were Sri Lanka from the mid 1980s and Zimbabwe from the late 1990s; however, when you consider that Ceylon won one game in the competition and had De Silva and Ranatunga, it would be difficult to say that they were worse than our present lot; even in the case of the Africans, their side included the Flower brothers -- although Andy failled, and let us not forget too, that, in the game at the WACA, Stuart Carlisle made a century against Australia.

And, in country which has produced Trumper and Bradman.

Got your wish Freezin, McDermott has been added to the squad as cover for Marsh if he is not fit for Friday. I reckon he will probably slot into the top 5 if Shaun is not able to.
