Southerner, I think Marsh will play and Green will miss out - cricket selectors are traditionally conservative people.

McDonald & Cummins want Green back in the gully and it won't surprise me if he gets back in
that they've waited this long to name a team says they're at eights and nines 

Surely the weather will dictate the 4th test 11 for Aust....no point selecting Murphy, if the weather indicates more cloud, drizzle then sunshine....Murphy can only be selected if Cummins is going to bowl him for 15 + overs per innings....if not, then Neser or Hazlewood surely comes in for Murphy.

If Marsh gets dropped for Green, then  sadly runs and wickets are of little value then, to those fringe players seeking opportunities and trying to grasp it. Marsh is no messiah, had loads of past opportunities, but geez that 100 of his at Headingley, was as good as some of Head's recent knocks of late....and Head has grown in confidence and consistency over the past 18 months....Marsh could do something similar, if rewarded for actual performance instead of potential.

Murphy is dropped - two all rounders in by the look

so it turns out Murphy isn't the best back up spinner - why on earth was he selected in the first place 
this current national set up will set Australian cricket back years the way it's headed

Murphy looks more like a slow-medium pacer than a spinner, at that pace he ain't no Derek Underwood.

Interesting call for sure Southerner, it's almost like they want to win the toss, bat for 2 days and bat the poms out of the game. Bit risky not picking a spinner that's for sure and definitely makes you wonder why they pay for Murphy to have a pommy holiday rather than use him.

I don't mind it. No problem with Murphy out, he doesn't look like the type of spinner to get big turn on pommy wickets. Would have preferred to see Neser to Hazelwood though just for the energy and difference he'd bring. 

Interesting that both teams are loaded up but for different reasons - one to take 20 wickets and the other to make 600.
