It is a good series, the English in pretty good form-- in the next ashes both sides will have to play well to be able to wave the 'union jack' the highest.

I cant believe I am writing this AR but I am thoroughly enjoying the way England are going about the way they play their Test Cricket at the moment (Bazball).
Stokes as Captain & McCullum as Coach have been a breath of fresh air to proper cricket lovers with their all out attack style with both bat and ball and putting that ol English conservative model (Boycott, Tavare, Bailey etc) aside hopefully for good.
Fancy scoring 510 runs in only 75 overs on Day 1 at Rawalpindi sheesh!

McCullum has worked out that by scoring at 5 to 6 an over in the first day condenses day 1 & 2 and gives more time to bowl out an opposition twice
This won't always work against quality bowling attacks or on pitches that favour bowling but it stems way back to the days of Matthew Hayden who scored quickly early on by tactic
And don't worry coaches will already be planning for similar assaults now

BH- it was amazing-- they could do with Graeme Swann out there. Like you though BH, i would not like to see them forget the MCC coaching manual totally.

Fantastic entertainment, but that 1st test Pakistan bowling attack had 34 test wickets between them.....not saying the English can't replicate that feat again, because McCullum and Stokes definitely have got a good thing going...let's see Bazball v an experienced bowling attack first......Pakistan nearly won both those tests and were behind the 8 ball in both of them playing with an inexperienced bowling attack.....game of cms sonetimes....no way was that catch of Pope's a catch either.......

Will be interesting to see how the Australians respond to this type of cricket in the ashes next year. I have a feeling our bowlers won't take too kindly to batsmen trying to hit them off their lengths. They may get dragged out of their comfort zones. On the other hand if Australia were to win the first test by a large margin would England be brave enough to continue their approach if they are behind in a series. Their strategy is a high risk/high reward approach so it will go pear shaped at times.

Agree it's been great to watch, but as was pointed out i wonder if the results of the last 2 games would have been different with a more experienced side.
In both tests England deserved credit for getting wickets to win the game, but there were wickets that fell to inexperienced shot making by Pakistan.
This style leaves sides with lots to get in the 4th innings on pitches that are still good to bat on......Though it could open the game further if they end up rotating bowlers regularly to stop injuries due to higher bowling workloads

McCullum has months to fine tune the tactic before the Ashes and I think it's a certainty England will target Australia's bowlers and quite likely straight up in the first test
It's just worked in the subcontinent and that's the last place I thought it would even though Rawalpindi is a major highway

England wrapped up the Test Series 3-0 .With a comfortable 8 wicket win in the 3rd test.
